Dr. Bill Newell always dreamed of starting his own orthodontic practice, and his dream became a reality when he opened the doors of Newell Orthodontics in March 2007. Prior to opening thepractice, Dr. Newell worked for three years with Drs. Waugh and Allen in their Athens, Watkinsville, and Winderoffices. He loves working with our fun and talented team members, and he truly enjoys coming to work to see our patients every day!

Dr. Newell loves his job! In fact, he knew by age 15 that he wanted to be an orthodontist. After wearing braces himself, he worked through high school and college for his own orthodontist, Dr. Jeff Jordan, in Alpharetta.

After graduating with honors from Georgia Tech with a degree in biology, Dr. Newell attended the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, where he achieved the highest score on Part I of the National Boards Exam and graduated at the top of his class.

Dr. Newell completed a two-and-a-half-year orthodontic residency and received his graduate certificate in orthodontics from the Medical College of Georgia. He then went on to become board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Newell is currently the only board certified orthodontist in Jefferson and Watkinsville.

Given his strong desire to continually further his education, Dr. Newell spends hundreds of hours attending postgraduate courses around the country. His commitment to excellence and years of clinical experience enable him to manage all types of orthodontic cases, from simple crowding to complex surgical cases. A member of several leading study clubs and a board certified orthodontist, Dr. Newell is recognized as an expert in his field, and he enjoys collaborating with other dental professionals to help his patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles.

Dr. Newell married his wife Katie in April 2008. They live in Jeffersonwith their three childrenand their chocolate Labrador Retrievers. Newell Orthodontics is truly a family business; Katieis the Practice Coordinator here, and her little helpers are frequently seen around the office. Dr. Newell enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, golf, backpacking, traveling, cookingand volunteering in our community.

Sarah joined our team in August 2021. Prior to joining our team, she studied at Ogeechee Technical College and has years of experience working with children as a nanny. Sarah also previous worked in veterinary medicine for two years. She is very excited to create relationships with our patients and see their beautiful smiles evolve.

Alicia joined our team in November 2021 with more than 8 years of customer service experience and 4 years of administrative experience. Alicia loves building relationships with our patients to ensure that their questions and concerns are always properly answered and addressed and that the journey to their new smile is as pleasant as possible!

Alicia was raised in Flowery Branch, Georgia, and she currently resides in Athens, Georgia with her 2 dogs, Molly and Blu, and her kitten, Luna. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys hiking, reading, swimming, spending time with her family and gardening.

Courtney joined our team in August 2020. Prior to joining our team, she spent 3 years teaching middle and high school and 2 years in a medical office. Courtney loves to combine both areas of her experience to make every patient's journey with us the best it can be. She looks forward to getting to know all of our wonderful patients!

Katherine joined our team as a Certified Orthodontic Assistant in May 2015 with more than four years of orthodontic experience. She graduated from Lanier Technical College with a degree in General Studies and is a certified Healthcare Specialist. Katherine has always had a passion for making people smile, and her extensive experience in all areas of our practice make her an incredible asset to our team. Her goal for every patient she meets is for them to leave feeling like they gained a new best friend!

Brooke joined our team in July 2018 after working for an orthodontic practice in Gwinnett where she grew up. She graduated from Gwinnett Technical College with a diploma in Dental Assisting. Brooke is excited to create long lasting relationships with our observation patients and their families as they move along their journey to their new smile.

Brooke lives in Jefferson and spends her free time at her family's lake house on Lake Hartwell and their llama farm with her husband and their dogs Ruger and Bernie. Brooke's passion is traveling and getting to see new places!

Linda is our Clinical Coordinator and aCertifiedOrthodontic Assistant. She joined our team in August 2010 with over 17 years of orthodontic experience, and she has been a valuable team member ever since. Linda loves to make our patients and their families smile, and we are very fortunate to have her extensive orthodontic knowledge and experience on ourteam.

A native of Watkinsville, Linda now lives in Athens with her husband David and son Tom. In her time outside the office, Linda enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and going to the beach.

Rhonda joined our team in March 2012 with 13 years of experience as a Certified Orthodontic Assistant. Rhondas combination of orthodontic experience and friendly personality make her a favorite of our patients.

Rhonda has been married to her high-school sweetheart for more than 25 years, and they have two wonderful children, Courtney and Daniel. Rhonda loves spending quality time with her three grandchildren. She also likes to craft and shop at flea markets in her spare time. She would love to meet Ellen DeGeneres in person one day!

Heather joined our team as a Certified Orthodontic Assistant in February 2016 with 19 years of orthodontic experience. Heathers sweet personality and years of experience make her a valuable addition to our team.

Bree joined our team in June 2021 as an Orthodontic Assistant after graduating from Gwinnett Technical College with a diploma in Dental Assisting. She is very excited to help our patients become the most confident version of themselves and that all starts with a smile!

Bree was born in Upstate New York and lived in South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida before ultimately moving to Georgia. She recently moved to Athens to be closer to our offices. Outside of work, she loves to travel to new places, bake and go to her family's condo in Florida.

Kassidy joined our team in June 2019 after working for an orthodontic office near Charlotte, NC where she grew up. Kassidy has worked as a records and sterilization technician since graduating from Central Piedmont Community College in North Carolina in 2017. She loves working for such an amazing team and providing wonderful experiences to our patients.

Kassidy married her high school sweetheart, Connor, and lives in Athens where her husband is pursuing a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law. Kassidy is one of six kids and loves to spend time with her family and her cat, Milo.

Katie is Dr. Newells wife and our Practice Coordinator & Marketing Director. She enjoys getting to know our patients and their families and working with her husband to grow their family business. Katie loves the friendly atmosphere at our office, and youll often see her working behind the scenes with her three helpers.

Katie has her Bachelorof Arts in Historyfrom the University of Virginia and her Juris Doctorfrom the University of Georgia School of Law. Prior to starting Newell Orthodontics with her husband, she practiced corporate and businesslaw. She loves to spend time with her family and friendsand enjoys playing with her Chocolate Labs, cheering on her kids in their many activities, reading, volunteering andtraveling.
