Dr. Howard was able to see me short notice. The staff was very kind while I was dealing with a painful dental issue. She was very transparent and referred me to a specialist. Her bedside manner is excellent and professional. I will continue to see her for my regular dental visits.

My wife and I recently came in as new patients. We're immediately going elsewhere to another dental practice with more competent and engaged front staff. Front staff engagement and follow-thru was lousy and dishonest (scheduling, billing, and managers). Lazy, dismissive, and tone-deaf when it came to fixing claim billing errors New Town Dental Arts caused and not being able to abide by routine dental service appointment requests. Communicated a half dozen times with staff with zero resolution/closure. I confirmed on my own and with with my insurance company (additional three times) that the error is on their part and there is no prior patient dental histories that would cause conflict. I'm left to pay a forward balance that New Town Dental Arts is too stubborn (or incompetent) to admit to (look at the other 1-stars reviews...there's a similar theme). I specifically requested the same services for my wife and I (routine x-rays and cleaning) that were to be 100% covered by my in-network insurance company. Very simple request. Claims between my wife and I were submitted differently for the same services and 100% reimbursement for service was denied because New Town Dental Arts likes to perform two x-ray services that can't both be done within the same 5 year period; this is something that New Town Dental Arts as an -in-network provider should know. This is a well-known, large carrier. New Town Dental Art's servicing dentist knew of the issue right away when we were discussing the problem and why I was leaving; she mentioned that there is a history of this happening due their common practice of billing the claims with the similar x-rays. ****Not once did the front staff, billing people, or managers mention this known issue**** They deflected the problem on myself or the insurance company. Supposed claim resubmittals were done, yet there was no attempt to notify me of an update before receiving another forward bill balance due. Services were performed almost three months ago. Dishonest and lazy group of professionals.

I know of multiple patients, including myself, who have left this practice for various reasons. It's an unfortunate thing, since the practice operates out of a very nice facility, and the front office staff are pleasant enough. But back in the treatment rooms, the staff and Dr Springman seem to be in a constant state of disarray. Example--dental assistants frequently left the treatment room to retrieve instruments or supplies from adjacent rooms, audibly rummaging through cabinets and drawers, then returning without proper hand washing or donning fresh surgical gloves, at least from my point of view. Many procedures involved as many as three different assistants during different aspects of treatment, further upping the chances of cross contamination. Dr Springman's chairside manner left much to be desired--during one particular visit to repair 5 cavities (yes, 5 in one sitting, "routine" she said), she left the treatment room on two separate occasions for extended times without explanation or an "excuse me for a moment". Meanwhile her assistant had her gloved finger in my mouth in a most uncomfortable manner without a word spoken for what seemed like an eternity. During the same procedure the doc aggressively filed between my teeth with a sandpaper-like flossing material to adjust the gaps, cutting into my gums, and even standing at one point apparently for better leverage. I felt completely disrespected as a captive patient having to endure this type of treatment. As for the resulting quality of work on my 5 "cavities", I can only attest that a scant 6 months later two of my front upper teeth were transluscent in places, meaning the filling material was applied too thinly. The other three filled teeth have clearly been "patched". In other words, a manifestation of inferior workmanship. That's essentially money down the toilet for me and my insurance company. Oh, and then there's the hard sell seemingly to use the maximum insurance billing as quickly as possible into the new benefit period, such as me suddenly needing the 5 cavities (referenced above) repaired on the first week of the new year, and needing 2 additional crowns on the heels of a very expensive Invisalign teeth alignment program they highly recommended. However they failed to mention any other pending issues until I was just finishing with the Invisalign realignment. And let's not forget the oral cancer scans and the fluoride treatments heavily lobbied for by the staff including the doctor herself while I sat captive in the chair. So I left after little over a year and several thousand dollars lighter in the wallet feeling that my trust had been betrayed and I had been handled disrespectfully. As importantly, I did not appreciate feeling like a cash flow machine for what I considered to be substandard care. Neither did my wife and friends who left the practice for similar reasons.

This place is fantastic! I chose this place based on a phone call for information. I travelled 1 hour rather then chose a closer dentist. New Town made me comfortable from the moment I walked in to when I left. At no point did I feel pressured. I was brought in to an exam room 30 minutes early! Yes I said early!!!! My nurse/asst Sam was friendly, informative and professional. My doctor, Dr Flores, was very good about assessing my situation and offered a Pan scan as well as a free consult with a specialist, Dr Niver! They both had suggestions on how we could proceed. I was provided with a detailed estimate and the manager said she would call my insurance company to solidify the prices I was given. Again at no point did I feel pressured. They offered to speak with my former dentist as well as my oral surgeon. The best part of this experience is it was for FREE! This team is first class and well worth the drive! THANK YOU NEW TOWN STAFF

I have been with this practice for over 10 years. Dr. Springman was the owner up to 2 years ago. She was a fantastic dentist and I would give her practice a 5 rating. No longer is this true. The staff, hygentist and periodontist are very good.
