Dr. Jean-Paul Taveras is originally from the Dominican Republic. He graduated from the universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo and obtained his Doctor in Dental Surgery degree in 2013 and graduated with Cum Laude honors.
Having Trained in the Dominican Republic and in the USA, Dr. Taveras has provided care to both the local and international communities. His focus is to provide quality and comprehensive dental care for his patients.

The first thing we want you to know if youre experiencing dental anxiety is that you are not alone. Our dentist treats patients every day who come to our office, requiring sedation dentistry. Some patients have had previous negative experiences at a dentist, some are embarrassed by a gag reflex, while still others find it uncomfortable to remain calm and still without the use of laughing gas to help them relax.
Whatever your reason, our dental care team will work with you to design a treatment plan that includes sedation dentistry as a part of your procedure, whether its as simple as a dental exam or something more complex such as a root canal or tooth extraction. We know that every patient is unique in their requirements for sedation, so we want to assure you that you will be treated with individual respect when you discuss your concerns with us.

Here's my experience: I was in a horrible crash that completely changed my life. Dr. Tavares helped me in my lowest point in my life. I will forever be grateful by how much he and his team helped me. They treated me like family and felt at ease during my procedure. His dental work is immaculate. My teeth look natural, as if I had never been in a car crash. I felt NO pain and their bed side manner was superb. Gloria and Amarellys were the nicest and helpful assistants. If you are planning on going with a different dental team, YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG. I promise you, Dr. Tavares will give you everything you would want and need from a dental health care professional. He works magic with his hands, you will not feel any pain, and he's an amazing person guiding you to good health. Again, I will forever be grateful on the amazing job him and his team did for me. I wish them all the blessings in the world. You'll be in amazing hands.

New Tampa Smiles has welcoming and kind staff that makes my whole family feel valued as customers. Dr. Taraverse does periodontal work which is greatly valued for members of my family, and he has helped me feel comfortable in a dentist office which is something I've never felt before. Needed emergency dental care while on vacation. The office fit me in without a scheduled appointment. Dr. Tavares is extremely professional, kind, knowledgeable, and reasonably price (and I didn't have insurance). He was a tremendous relief during a very stressful time. And his staff is great too.. Highly, highly recommended!

I cannot say enough positive things about New Tampa Smiles! I had accompanied a friend there some time ago and found the staff to be welcoming and attentive, (her teeth restoration turned out great!) but being the patient this time around, just underscored that first experience. First time there everyone seem genuinely interested in what they are doing just did pictures of teeth will go back to get wisdom pulled so we we will see how it goes I think they are really great I got the wisdom teeth pulled out it was a good experience I'll be back thanks for everything.
