Cosmetic dentistry combines the art and science of dentistry to give you a smile youll be proud to share with the world. Minimally invasive procedures, such as porcelain veneers and teeth whitening, are relatively simple approaches to enhance the brightness and harmony of your smile. We can also replace missing teeth using the most recent advances in dental technology. With dental implants and mini-implants, we can not only help you to reestablish a complete smile but can also prevent bone loss, preserve the contours of your face, and provide stable support for your replacement teeth. We also offer other solutions for the replacement of lost or missing teeth, including fixed bridges and customized, natural-looking dentures.

As part of our comprehensive menu of dental services, we also offer customized oral appliances and therapy to treat a number of conditions including obstructive sleep apnea, TMJ dysfunction, and bruxism. With our sleep apnea treatment, we can help you to prevent the potentially life-threatening consequences of this disorder, and allow you to get a good nights rest. Our night guards are specifically designed to alleviate the symptoms of TMJ disorder and bruxism. For individuals who want to straighten or improve the alignment of their smiles, our office is also a leading provider of Invisalign. A clear plastic alternative to traditional metal braces, Invisalign allows you to straighten your teeth with virtually invisible aligners. Have you been suffering due to missing teeth? Are you tired of your dentures slipping out of place every time you speak or enjoy a meal? We have a solution for you that can restore your confidence, your comfort, and your health. Dr. Steven Ollason can perform every step of dental implant treatment - from planning and placement to restoration - at his Albuquerque dentistry practice.

We love everyone in this office. From Dr. Steve to Marie and all in between. I have never had such straight forward care for myself and my husband. Would highly recommend New Mexico Smile to anyone looking for a great dentist and overall practice!

Replacing a tooth using this solution involves three basic steps. The dentist places the implant into the jawbone to replace lost roots, attaches an abutment (connection device) to the implant, and then places a custom replacement tooth onto the abutment. We can tailor a solution to replace one tooth or many teeth.

By anchoring your restorations to your jaw, you can expect your new teeth to function just like natural teeth. As such, you do not need to worry about your restoration sliding out of place while speaking or eating.

When a tooth is no longer present to stimulate the jawbone, bone tissue will begin to recede. This can not only cause other teeth to become loose due to the lack of support, but can also affect your facial contours. Dental implants are the only treatment capable of stopping bone atrophy after tooth loss.

Reestablishing a healthy smile can significantly boost your self-esteem. In addition to allowing you to speak and eat confidently, dental implants paired with high-quality restorations can replace each missing tooth in an exceptionally realistic-looking way.

It 's just a fact of life. Going to the dentist is on our 'what you need to-do do to keep healthy' list, so go to the New Mexico Smile Center. Congenial, competent, professional staff... they will keep you smiling.

Once fully healed, you will return to our Albuquerque dentistry practice to have your final bridge, crown, or denture placed. Your dentist will make sure your restoration achieves a proper fit by making any necessary adjustments at this time.

Take your antibiotics as prescribed and use an antiseptic mouthwash to help prevent infection. Prescribed pain medication, over-the-counter pain medication, and cool or warm compresses can help alleviate any discomfort at the site of your implant and in your jaw.

Following your surgery, Dr. Ollason may instruct you to rest for a few days. This includes avoiding all strenuous activity until you are cleared by our dentist and staying home from work for two to three days.

Though you're healing from surgery, maintaining your oral hygiene is still important. Use a soft-bristle toothbrush to gently brush around your implant and rinse your mouth out thoroughly after each meal. Be careful not to disturb your stitches.

A lost tooth or several missing teeth can have a negative effect on your confidence and make it difficult to speak and eat. Fortunately, an implant-supported restoration fromDr. Steve Ollasoncan improve the appearance and functionality of your teeth for years to come.

Dr. Ollason was great! I called the 24 hour emergency line and Dr. Ollason was the doctor on call. He was able to help me with my tooth issue on a Saturday and I am thinking of making him my official dentist of record.

However, dental implants provide a significant benefit not offered by traditional restorations: preventingjawbone atrophy. As bone loss progresses, traditional dentures require frequent relining and adjustments. The cost of these adjustments adds up over time. Implant-supported dentures help your jaw keep its shape and size, andrequire significantly fewer (if any)adjustments.

While insurance typically does not cover dental implants, we do not want our patients to be discouraged from this highly effective treatment. As such, we offer an in-office discount plan as well as third-party financing. Our Dental Benefits Program is offered to patients without insurance and provides discounts on services. Patients can also apply for CareCredit, which offers a variety of payment plans.

If you are missing most or all of your natural teeth, an implant-supported denture offers an unrivaled level of stability and strength. However, for patients who have lived with missing teeth for some time, there may not be enough tissue in their jaw to support traditional implants due to bone loss.

All-on-4 dental implants can restore an entire arch of missing teeth using justfour precisely placed dental implants, even if you have suffered some bone atrophy following tooth loss. Once the dentist has placed the implants, they are usually capable of supporting a full-arch denture right away. Dr. Steve Ollason offers this advanced dental implant treatment concept at our Albuquerque, NM, dental practice to patients who would otherwise require bone graftingand a treatment timeline of up to a year.

All-on-4 is a unique method of implant placement that uses two vertical and two angled implants to support a full upper or lower denture. A denture traditionally needs six to eight implants. But by placing the posterior devices at an angle, All-on-4 maximizes implant contact withthe jaw for outstanding denture stability. This lessinvasive treatment method has a 10-year success rate of 94.8 percent.

I have been going to Dr. Ollason for a few years and he is absolutely wonderful! He is so caring and gentle. He always listens with empathy and really wants to help his patients. His staff is great too! They are all very knowledgeable and helpful!

Dentures supported by All-on-4 implants are often an excellent option for those who lack sufficient bone density for traditional implant placement techniques. However, All-on-4 is not right for everyone. Our dentist will review your medical history to ensure that you are in good overall health and that no medical conditions could increase the risks associated with oral surgery.

Smoking has a negative effect on your body's ability to heal and can increase your risk of experiencing implant failure. Smokers will need to quit months beforesurgery and should plan to drop the habit for good.

All-on-4 dental implants are truly life-changing for patients with missing teeth. However, they are a significant financial investment as well. Patients interested in All-on-4 should be prepared to pay several thousand dollars out-of-pocket.

On the day of surgery, our dentist will administerlocal anesthesia and sedation to ensure that you are relaxed and comfortable. Using the surgical plan created with our imaging software, Dr. Ollason will preciselyplace your dental implants.

I have my same hygienist as I have had for decades even though the doctor is new. Same great service and friendly staff. The new dentist is very nice and professional as well. The only thing that was changed is that I can no longer get 7:10am appointments. I can however come in at 7:30am so not a big deal.
