Dr. Cherish Im (affectionately known as Dr. Cherish) is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Outside of private practice, Dr. Cherish serves as an Attending Pediatric Dentist and instructor for residents at Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack University Medical Center. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University College of Dentistry.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Cherish received a Bachelors degree in Science from McMaster University in 2006 and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from New York University College of Dentistry (NYU Dentistry) in 2010.
While at NYU Dentistry, Dr. Cherish developed a strong passion for working with children of all age groups and went on to complete a two-year specialty program in Pediatric Dentistry. During the course of her specialty training at NYU Dentistry, she traveled to many underprivileged areas to provide children with dental care and education.
Dr. Cherish has enjoyed working in private practice since 2012, serving children in central New Jersey. In 2018, Dr. Cherish founded New Leaf Pediatric Dentistry to serve those in need in northern New Jersey.
She is a member of the AAPD (American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry), ADA (American Dental Association) and NJAPD (New Jersey Academy of Pediatric Dentistry). She is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
First time experience was wonderful. Staff was really nice and the dentist was really caring. My two year old cried throughout the first dentist checkup but they really try to make him comfortable. Will update again on after a couple of visits =)

Such a wonderful experience. This was our first time at the dentist and I expected my son to be nervous and screaming. Instead, he smiled and stayed calm. The staff here go above and beyond to give each person a nice experience. Im excited to go back.

This place is amazing. I was a bit nervous about my son who is 4 going to the dentist. Upon walking inside, you have a very clean lobby with kids books and cat in the hat playing. My son was put at ease as soon as he walked inside. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and we were taken inside fast. The exam rooms have Netflix playing on the ceiling for the kids to watch while getting their teeth cleaned. The dentist was very inclusive with my son to make sure to show him how each tool worked before putting in his mouth. It seems the X-ray machine is cutting edge. All they did was put a device in his mouth and push a button. We had a great experience and I hope everyone will come to this office.

What an AMAZING first experience for our daughter! Dr. Cherish was so patient. She took her time and talked to my daughter from start to finish explaining each step to calm the nerves. The office is so clean and welcoming and the receptionist was so sweet. Our daughter can't wait until her next appt!

Excellent pediatric dentist office. Took us right in and super friendly. Patient and understanding when dealing with a toddler. My son does not enjoy getting his teeth brushed (wiggled and cried a bit) but behaved quite well during the entirety of his visit. I think his overall experience for his first appointment went great. He even thanked the dentist as we were leaving.
