Born and raised in East Saint Louis, IL., Dr. Hicks graduated high school and attended Fisk University in Nashville, TN and received a BS in 1982. Upon graduation, he attended Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1986. Following graduation, Dr. Hicks completed his residency program in emergency dentistry at Montefiore Hospital in Bronx, NY in 1987. Dr. Hicks decided to pursue a career in orthodontics after training in TMJ, obstructive sleep apnea and facial abnormality. He completed his orthodontic residency program in June of 1989 and moved to Texas in 1991. Dr. Hicks is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics.

We have 2 girls with braces. Started them at age 12. It's made a big difference in her self confidence and her sinus.. get the consultation while before they hit puberty. They have a better chance to correct their teeth without pulling any out.

Dr. Hicks did an amazing job with both my daughter's and my son's braces. He is very professional and knowledgeable. The office has a very comfortable atmosphere with state-of-the-art equipment.

2020: I love this place!! Dr. Hicks and his entire staff are top notch! Kind, welcoming and with a great bedside manner. I am thoroughly blown away with my treatment plan, Dr. Hicks' attention to detail and the cleanliness and sanitation of the office. As well, the state of the art equipment and symmetry facial software for the perfect treatment and smile. He listens to his patients and gives honest and professional feedback throughout every stage of treatment. So thankful I was referred here after a botched braces job from a general dentist. New Image Orthodontics is definitely worth my hour commute from the Woodlands!! Update: August 2022 - I tried to leave another review but it would not allow me to leave more than 1. I am beyond excited, as I recently got my top braces removed!!! THANK YOU, Dr. Hicks and team, for your kindness, dedication and passion for helping me and others!!! My teeth look amazing!!! After the previous botched braces job I had with a previous doctor, I never imagined my teeth would come out so beautiful!! THANK YOU!!!!

My baby has been going to New Image for over 2 years now, And I do not have 1 complaint. Very professional very nice staff and Dr Hicks is very nice and personable.

I walked in this dentist office with no hope after being turned away from 3 other orthodontist and Dr. Hicks turned my frown upside down and made me feel comfortable in my journey for a new smile!! I highly recommend this location. The staff, the doctor, THE OFFICE, the music!! Everything is great and I'm just glad to be here

This orthodontist office is AMAZING! The staff's professionalism and customer service is WAY above-average. It's actually superb! And Dr Hicks is OFF THE CHAIN BRILLIANT. Not to mention I'm probably the oldest patient but I feel like a kid whenever I'm at the office (except when I drink the coffee). Thank you New Image Orthodontics :-)

Doctor Hicks & his staff are absolutely awesome!!! Every visit has been professional & welcoming. This place is awesome! Had my consultation a few weeks ago and Dr. Hicks is the best! He explained the whole process of getting braces very thoroughly, and answered any questions that me and my fiance had. I got my braces installed today and it was fast, painless, and they are so pretty . Also, everyone is so friendly and the office is very. And a special shout out to Christina for making my visit extra comfortable! I highly recommend!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Let me tell you why. The moment I walk in the door I was greeted with a authentic smile. The lady at the front desk was happy to be there. She was gladly to help me. She check me in I waited for a few moments than I was was directed to go to the back. The place smelled amazing most doctors office and dental office have a smell. But not this place it smelled like freshness lol not breath or office funk lol. I will recommend this place if you need orthodontic work
