I consider myself incredibly fortunate to interact with so many wonderful people through the practice of Orthodontics. Through every relationship I form with my patients, my colleagues, and my community, I am motivated to build on my own personal and professional passions. I am honored to be a part of each patients journey as we achieve their best smile.
I earned my BA in Biochemistry and MS in Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania. I continued to complete my DMD and residency training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. I am a proud member of the American Association of Orthodontics as well as the American Dental Association.
I met my amazing husband in Philadelphia, PA where we lived for 10 years. We were excited to move back to CT in 2018 to be closer to family. On the weekends, we always try to enjoy some of our favorite outdoor activities: camping, hiking, fishing, and nature photography!
As I enter my 44th year of practicing Orthodontics, I have made the decision to turn over the reins of my practice and transition to the next chapter of my life. I feel truly privileged to have treated so many wonderful patients throughout my career! I want to take a moment to thank you for your confidence, trust, and patience. The relationships that I have formed with all my patients will continue to enrich my life and greatly contribute to my happiness. I look forward to seeing everybody around the office as we all transition during this new and exciting time.
Most people call me Jen but I also respond to Jennifer and hey you! I think its important that patients are relaxed and comfortable during their visits. We like talking to patients about whats going on in their lives and we love to joke around too. Our patients are much more than just a set of teeth, and we make it a priority to treat them as real people. Sometimes, sitting in our orthodontics chair and venting about work/school is the most relaxing part of our patients day!
Princess Anna (from Frozen) and I have a lot in common: we both love to make snowmen, family is very important to us, and we are both royalty. OK, that last part may not be true but who doesnt love to think they are a secret princess! I love that we treat patients of all ages, and many extended families kids, parents, cousins, and even grandparents. We want to make sure our office is a pleasant experience for everyone. An orthodontic visit can become a full family outing sometimes, those are the most fun!

We made two consultation appointments at two very different orthodontics office. New Fairfield Orthodontics was where we had our first consult. When we first came in for a consultation, we immediately were greeted with such warmth. The nurse took xrays of my husband's teeth, then afterwards, Dr. Emily came in to show us the digital view of the outcome. We spoke about the treatment plan in great detail. We even spoke about payment, which is very flexible and definitely worth it. Dr. Emily, Rana, and everyone has such wonderful bedside manner. Every time we are greeted so cheerfully by everyone. Dr. Emily is such a knowledgeable and professional Orthodontist. She always makes sure that each patient is seen by her to ensure that the appointment went smoothly. Rana, is always such a pleasure to speak with to make appointments, payments or any necessary changes. New Fairfield Ortho is easily reachable by phone, email, and text message. If you reach them when they are closed, you will hear from them immediately the following business day. Overall, we are very happy with the treatment that in such a short amount of time my husband's teeth is already straight!

Dr. Emily Ding is one of the best orthodontists I know! I would certainly recommend visiting her to take care of any of your orthodontic needs. If you are looking for braces or invisalign, search no further! Best family friendly practice in town!

I am so relieved that I came to this office for a second opinion. I would have had my daughter go through unnecessary, uncomfortable, and prolonged treatment had I not brought my eight year daughter to see Dr. Emily Ding for a consult. The treatment recommendations were appropriate, short term, and successful!!! My eight year is so comfortable with Dr. Ding. She's skilled and has such a nice way with kids. I have to travel a few towns over to get to the office. It's completely worth the trip. I completely trust Dr. Ding's judgment and highly recommended this office.The staff is wonderful as well. Hunter has been so nice and helpful with any questions and really accommodating with appointments.

We consulted with three Orthodontic offices before choosing Dr Huwer's. We felt he had the best plan of care and took his time to explain it. His office staff is fantastic and always accommodating. My daughter loves the Doctor and feels comfortable with the whole staff. This was a great find for our family.

I can't say enough great things about this practice. Dr. Huwer, Susan and their team are all outstanding professionals and wonderful, caring people. Both of my children received extensive treatment from Dr. Huwer and their results are fabulous. My advice is, be patient and trust the doctor, he knows what he is doing and the end results will reflect that. It was a pleasure visiting this office over the years and getting to know the staff. I would highly recommend Dr. Huwer for exceptional orthodontic care in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Dr. Huwer is a perfectionist in his trade who took ample time to explain my son's orthodontic needs after his first visit. I was, and still am informed of every step taken and the results gained from each step in my son's treatment plan. Every staff member is kind, caring, and very approachable. The office is inviting and Susan always greets us with a smile. I highly recommend this office.
