We are a general dental practice that focuses on oral systemic health and individualized patient care. We emphasize health as a way to prevent disease and give our patients control over what is going on in their mouths and bodies. We love watching our patients live healthy lifestyles!

Dr. Lauren Roper was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She earned her bachelors degree in interior design from the University of Texas at Austin and went on to design retail stores for Fossil (the watch company) and FedEx Office. After several years, she decided that she wanted a more intimate connection with peoples lives and more specifically, their health. She decided to pursue dentistry and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Roper moved out to Colorado to be in the mountains and enjoy the outdoors with her husband, Raul. They discovered the up and coming town of New Castle and immediately fell in love with its charming community. With the considerable assistance of former mayor Frank Breslin, Dr. Roper was able to follow a lifelong dream of restoring and repurposing a historic building on Main Street Odd Fellows Hall.

Dr. Roper strongly believes in being involved and giving back to the community. In the words of Frank, as repeated by his son, Thomas Breslin: Work, contribute, and be good to one another! Dr. Roper and New Castle Dental are on a mission not only to revitalize the health of our community residents, but also to revitalize Main Street. She believes ours is a growing community that will benefit from more in-town services as well as economic growth from the developing recreational opportunities of New Castle.

The oral systemic health connection and the understanding that the health of the mouth affects the health of the entire body fascinate Dr. Roper. She is an active member of the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health and is devoted to empowering people to take control of their overall wellness through preventive dentistry and nutrition. She believes that preventive dentistry can not only save money and potential pain, but it also has the potential to be life-saving.

Dr. Roper is a preceptor of The Bale-Doneen Method for heart attack and stroke prevention and also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and the Western Colorado Dental Association. She and Raul enjoy mountain biking, running, climbing, rafting, skiing, camping and the abundance of outdoor activities Colorado has to offer. They are also members of the Garfield County Search and Rescue team. In June 2019, they welcomed their daughter, Ruby, to the family!

Angela has a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Development with a business concentration from Drexel University, and 7+ years of previous management experience. She moved to New Castle from New Jersey in 2017 with her husband. She loves running, coaching distance runners, working with athletes to improve their mental performance, helping people set and achieve goals, hiking, reading, drinking coffee, writing, and planning group runs for the New Castle Running Club. Angela grew up with parents who emphasized the importance of oral health and has never had a cavity. What interests her most about dentistry is learning how to help patients achieve a high level of oral health. Her favorite thing about her job is connecting with the community and her coworkers.

Johana began her career in dentistry in 2012 as a dental assistant and quickly learned that dentistry was her passion! She was inspired to further her education and became a Dental Hygienist. She attended the CNCC Dental Hygiene program and graduated with honors, earning the Western Slope Dental Hygienist Society Award. Johanas favorite part of her job is getting to know her patients and teaching them that their smile is connected to their health. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, hiking, exploring new places, and trying new foods. Additionally, Johana is fluent in Spanish and always available if you need someone to help translate your dental needs!!

Kayla graduated in 2012 from Colby Community College as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She has always been in private family practice and enjoys building relationships with her patients. Her goal as a hygienist is to help patients care for their overall health. When she is not at work she is chasing her two kids, Liam and Harper, and enjoying the Colorado life! With her husband, she moved to New Castle in 2015 and loves the community. Kayla serves on the board for the River Center, a local non-profit. She enjoys running and paddle boarding. Youll likely see her around town or out on Harvey Gap.

Kayla joined our team in 2018 with three previous years of experience in dental administration and seven years in medical administration. Kayla was born and raised in Colorado but moved to Texas with her husband in the beginning of 2020; she is now working remotely. Even though she is not in the office, she is busy behind the scenes with insurance companies, data entry, and coordinating finances. She spends her days answering questions about benefits, claims, and managing the financial needs of our patients. Kayla is fluent in Spanish and always available to take your call if you need someone to help translate your dental needs!! Her favorite part of dentistry is seeing how a visit to the office can change someones life inside and out by renewing their confidence with a new smile. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, traveling, doing arts & crafts, and making sure that everything is organized.

We practice with the latest screening tests for decay susceptibility and gum disease susceptibility. We are able to see which bacteria you are burdened with and what your additional lifestyle risk factors are, and adjust our treatment accordingly.
