Anna received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 2002. Prior to this, she completed her Bachelor of Arts at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey.During her education at Columbia, Dr. Anna led her peers as their Class President for three years, and she delivered the Salutatorian speech at graduation.
Dr. Anna furthered her education to pursue a certificate of Specialty in Pediatric Dentistry at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where she served as Chief Resident and where she provided comprehensive clinical care for well children and those with special needs. After residency, her private practice experience as a pediatric dentist began on Long Island and continued in Westchester County and then into Connecticut. She is a proud and active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, New Canaan Dental Society, which she is currently serving as Vice President for, and The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Furthermore, Dr. Anna is currently serving on boards for New Canaan Cares, The Daycare Center of New Canaan and The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Anna adores spending time with her husband, Dennis, their 13 year old son, Niko, who is currently attending school at Saxe Middle School right here in New Canaan and, of course, her 2 year old Goldendoodle, Barkley. She is an avid reader and is in the process of also receiving her certificate of Health, Wellness and Nutrition at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in order to expand and compliment her scope of services.

Four Years Ago I wrote. We have been going to Dr. Anna for the past 3+ years. My kids are 13. She is excellent, and I think the best children's dentist in New Canaan. Takes a conservative approach, but is a straight shooter. And the kids like her, and her staff. Oct 2022: My kids are now 18 and I called to schedule their last cleaning with Dr. Anna before moving onto an adult dentist. I requested no X-rays b/c both kids have had a lot of mouth X-rays over the past two years via their orthodontist and I wanted to limit the number as I've just had a partial thyroidectomy. Thyroid issues have been linked to frequent mouth X-rays. I explained this to the receptionist. Regardless, via the receptionist, Dr. Anna said my daughter needed full X-rays to check on her wisdom teeth (not visible or pushing through). She said my son was more up to date on his X-rays, and didn't need them this visit. I pushed back and said I really didn't want my daughter to have X-rays this visit, and that I'd like to wait for the new adult dentist to do them in 2023. Dr. Anna, all via her receptionist, came back and suggested both kids move on to the adult dentist now. Effectively refused to do thee teeth cleaning. After eight years of going to Dr. Anna - this was how she chose to end the relationship. I think it was handled badly, enough so, that I am motivated to share it on public forum via this post.

We Love dr Anna Simonis and her team. Both of my girls are her patients and we are absolutely happy. Her expertise and positive attitude are the reasons why I have been trusting my children's health to her since 2010.

My children have been going to New Canaan Pediatric Dentistry for the past 6 years and we've always had a positive experience. We love Dr. Anna! She and her entire staff are always so courteous and gracious. They take the time to explain any issues with my children's dental health and make the experience comfortable and even fun for the kids. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
