Dr. Larry Layfield is a diplomate of The American Board of Orthodontics. He earned both his dental degree and his specialty certificate from the Louisiana State University Medical Center School of Dentistry. During his academic career, he earned several scholarships, over 15 awards, gained membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the distinguished Dental Honor Society, and received the Chancellors Outstanding Student Award upon his graduation from dental school. Dr. Layfield is a published researcher, being named a National Science Foundation Undergraduate Research Scholar in 1990 for his DNA research, and publishing articles concerning his research during his dental and orthodontic training.
Dr. Layfield is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Southwestern Society of Orthodontists, the Texas Orthodontic Study Club, the Texas Dental Association, and the River District Dental Society. He regularly attends continuing education courses to learn the latest techniques and technologies, to provide the highest level of service to his patients. Dr. Layfield also enjoys speaking to schools and local groups about the importance of dental and orthodontic health.
Dr. Layfields other interests include camping and hiking with his family, fishing, and gardening. Dr. Layfields wife, Angela, is a veterinarian, and they have six children: Garrett, Lathan, Ella, Abigail, Max and Samuel.

Betty has been in the dental field for over 23 years. She has helped manage several offices and helps her husband with his painting company. She is passionate about her job because she enjoys helping people and meeting new faces. Betty moved to the hill country after growing up in the city, best decision ever. Her circle of friends have become family even though they do not have the same bloodline. She enjoys spending time with her two beautiful daughters, two handsome grandsons and amazing husband. She and her husband like to travel with friends, playing shuffleboard, spending time outdoors and taking care of her plants.
Darlene is a native Texan, grew up in Conroe. She has worked many years in the orthodontic field where she has filled almost every position. Darlene and her husband Jim have three grown married sons and have been blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren. Besides spending time with her grandchildren, Darlene enjoys cooking for her family, spending time at the river, traveling and shopping in Gruene.
Desiree was born and raised in Seguin, Tx. She has been a RDA since 2015,she joined Dr. Layfields team soon after her certification. She loves helping patients to achieve their dream smile. She loves spending time with her family,game night and playing volleyball.
Rose, a native to New Braunfels is our Treatment Coordinator and joined the NBOA team in 2013. She has been in the dental field for 33 years as an RDA. Rose enjoys establishing the initial relationship with each new patient, making them feel comfortable and at home.
Stephanie is our Marketing Coordinator. Although Stephanie has a degree in Child Development, she has been in marketing for fifteen years and enjoys the creative side of her job. She loves planning the in-office games, buying fun prizes for our patients, and visiting with our referring dental offices. Stephanie and her husband Tim of 34 years have five children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and a beautiful grandson. Stephanie and Tim homeschool their 3 younger children.
Kelli has been a RDA since 1996 started in general dentistry and moved on to orthodontics in 1997. She has been a clinical coordinator for 20+ years and a lab technician working with 3D models to make retainers. She loves being part of the orthodontic field, loves building relationships with her patients and their families;my goal is to make every patient comfortable and happy to be here!
Maria joined our practice with 25 years of dental experience. She was born in a tiny west Texas town with the most beautiful sunsets. Maria and her husband have been married for 25 years and have two daughters one of which serves in the US military. Maria enjoys reading, live music, hiking, kayaking and all things in nature.

We've had 2 great experiences with Dr. Layfield and his team- from office staff to techs to Dr. Layfield himself. Hopefully we are through with orthodontic needs, but we wouldn't hesitate to go back if we do :)

We loved Dr. Layfield and his crew! They were always respectful and helpful to our needs including money, billing and changing appointments, etc. I never felt like I was bothering them or causing them frustration when I had to move my appointment around at times. I also enjoy listening to the calm Christian music being played in the office and complimentary water and coffee. The office is always extremely clean and comfortable . And of course my daughters teeth are beautiful Thanks for everything !

Dr. Larry Layfield has been our orthodontist of choice for both of my daughters,and most recently, for myself. I am a Dental Hygienist and have been extremely impressed with the work that he as done on my teeth as well as for my daughters. Our smiles are beautiful. I highly recommend him for all orthodontic treatment for the whole family.

Both of our kids have done braces at New Braunfels Orthodontic Associates and it's been a great experience. Dr. Layfield is such a kind and gentle soul and always willing to answer questions and offer explanations when needed.
