We are a full service Dental office with a 24 year history started by Dr. James Alvis and now continued by Dr. Tuan Levo, Dr. Carol Farn, and their caring team. Our office has a warm small town feel, but with all of the latest technology.
Dr. Tuan Levo was born in Trenton, NJ. He spent the majority of his early childhood in Northern Virginia and obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology at George Mason University. He went on to pursue a Masters of Biomedical Science degree with a concentration in Oral Biology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He then obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery at West Virginia University.
When beginning his practice, Dr. Levo first chose an underserved area of rural central Virginia a couple hours outside his hometown. Here the bulk of the patient needs were treating toothaches. He is highly trained in tooth extractions, root canals, and dental implants. Nothing is more satisfying than getting someone out of pain and knowing you can go back to eating the things you like for dinner! However, his favorite procedures to do are ones that can transform your smile to give you back your confidence! Whether it is a simple Invisalign treatment to straighten a crooked front tooth or to replacing bad teeth with a full-arch implant snap-on, the new smiles that can be created is what makes his day.
Dr. Levo wishes to use his dental training and expertise to bring the oral healthcare of the greater Austin area to the highest level. In his spare time, you can find him designing his aquarium or playing his saxophone.
Hello and welcome! A little bit about me I am from the Washington D.C. suburb area and completed my degree in dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. When my husband and I were starting our family dental practice, we were attracted to the Austin suburb area for its culture and growth. After moving down here several years ago, we knew this was the place we were settling down.
My favorite part of dentistry is getting to know my patients. Though my practice philosophy is that I treat all patients equally, objectively, and without judgement, I understand that each person has different goals that are affected by their history, lifestyle, and stage of their life. I like to work with my patients comprehensively to provide an individualized treatment plan based on current standards and present day research, while tailored to your needs, aiming to provide the best strength, function and longevity to your teeth. I am open to your questions and look forward to having you come to our office!
Dr. James Alvis grew up in a small town in rural West Virginia. He obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology at West Virginia University. In 2016, Dr. Alvis obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery, also at West Virginia University.
After finishing school, Dr. Alvis worked for Maxwelton Health Center in West Virginia where he cared for over 3000 patients in the southern West Virginia community. During his time there he attended courses specific to esthetic dentistry, aiming to take his dental skills to the next level.
Dr. Alvis has focused his efforts on rejuvenating patients smiles. He is passionate about dentistry and takes great pride in his work. What he enjoys the most about his work is helping patients regain confidence in their smiles and promoting optimal oral health. He comes to New Braunfels committed to providing comprehensive care for families here, and hes excited to create new smiles here at NBDA!
Hello, I have been a practicing Dental Hygienist since 2015. At that time I graduated with an Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. I am a native of New Braunfels and truly appreciate the opportunity to treat patients from and in my home town.
From an early age, I always had an interest in dentistry. Dental hygiene allows me the opportunity to educate, treat and encourage good oral health. In addition I have established some great on going relationships with many of my patients.
Hi, Im Vanessa. I have been a Registered Dental Assistant since October 2000. My Aspiration is to help Dr. Alvis perform the best dental treatment and knowing our patients are leaving Confident and Proud in the dental work they just received. In my free time I love spending time with my family and friends. My husband Brian and I have been married since May 2010. We have one wonderful son named Kaydon.
I have been a Registered Dental Assistant since 2015. I am lucky to have found such a talented and motivating team of individuals to work aside as the business grows. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, spending time with my family, and being outdoors.

The whole staff was inviting and welcoming. I felt like I was a friend not just another patient. Sadie was gentle and very knowledgeable. Dr. Alvis made me feel at ease. I would recommend this office to all my friends.

Had 3 fillings replaced today and all done in 40 minutes including numbing time!! Dr. Alvis is the best!!. All the staff here are so friendly . I wouldn't dream of letting another dental practice look after my teeth

Very impressed with Dr Alvis and his staff. My experience with them started out today with a cleaning by Sadie. She made me feel very comfortable and took the time to explain everything to me and followed up with education on brushing techniques to help me target areas that need special attention. From there I then saw Dr Alvis. Dr Alvis made me feel comfortable while he examined my teeth. He was very thorough, explained his findings and my X-rays. I have not been to a dentist in 2 years plus I had a broken tooth. Dr Alvis preformed a root canal with a crown and 1 filling. I never felt any pain! Absolutely the best experience I have ever had at the dentist! Dr Alvis and his staff provide top of the line dental care. Very professional and caring. Also thank you Vanessa for making sure I was comfortable, the neck pillow was awesome!

Dr. Alvis is a pro in the way he manages the office and practices his dental work. This morning he spent an hour reworking a tooth that brook off my bridge and he once again made me very pleased with what he does and the way he does it. You can't go wrong under his care.

New Braunfels Dental Arts has provided for our family's dental needs for almost 10 years. The office is always clean and welcoming. The front desk employees are friendly and the hygienists are thorough yet gentle. Throughout the years we have had everything from cavities to crowns, extractions and even periodontal root scaling, as well as cleanings and whitening treatments. NBDA accommodates our busy schedules and has been there for my family for regular support as well as emergency dental situations. I always recommend them to my friends and coworkers, and I'm happy to recommend them to you too!
