Dr. J. Tanner Anderson was born and raised in the foothills of North Carolina. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University where he competed as a high jumper on the varsity Track & Field team. Following his time at Duke, he went on to study dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating dental school, Dr. Anderson remained at UNC where he received a Masters of Science in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Dr. James VandeBerg grew up in San Antonio and is a graduate of Clark High School. He received his bachelors degree at Texas A&M University in 2001, and four years later he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. After dental school Dr. VandeBerg continued his education for three years at Saint Louis Universitys prestigious Orthodontic Program where he received his Masters degree in Orthodontics.
Outside of the office, Dr. Anderson enjoys sports, music, hunting, fishing, and exercising. He is passionate about mentoring younger folks both professionally and personally. He regularly speaks to undergraduate predental societies that include students interested in pursuing a career in dentistry or orthodontics, and also volunteers as a high jump coach in his spare time. Dr. Andersons beautiful fiance, Danielle, will be joining him in New Braunfels after they are married in November 2021. Together, they enjoy exploring new places, cooking delicious meals, and relaxing outdoors.
Dr. Andersons mission is to instill confidence in each and every patient through the creation of a beautiful smile. He is a firm believer in the concept of continual learninghe is active in various study groups that focus on both orthodontic and interprofessional collaborative care. Dr. Anderson stays up to date with the current orthodontic literature, which allows him to adapt to the ever-changing orthodontic landscape. He looks forward to incorporating new technologies into everyday practice while maintaining an evidence-based approach to patient care.
Dr. Anderson hopes that each patient will feel welcome and valued at New Braunfels Braces. He is committed to treating each individual with respect, honesty, and dignity in their journey to a confident smile.

Dr. VandeBerg is privileged to be married to his lovely wife, Lauren and they have three wonderful children, Clayton, Suzanne, and Charlotte. When hes not making beautiful smiles, he is volunteering at their church as the Director of Recreation, kayaking the Guadalupe and Medina rivers, and running carpool for his kids activities. He has always enjoyed visiting the town of New Braunfels and now that he is serving the community here, he has fallen in love with the people and community. He hopes he can give back to New Braunfels as much as the community has given to him.

My daughter has been seen here for almost two years. We love Dr. Anderson and his staff. We have recently started bringing my son in as well. Wonderful atmosphere and the staff is informative and kind.

My children have had wonderful experiences. Dr Anderson and the staff are super nice, informative, and helpful! Office atmosphere is welcoming and feels like we're visiting close friends when we walk through the doors, not a cold stuffy office.

Team has been amazing with our teenagers and is flexible in understanding that life sometimes gets in the way. Also taking the time to explain things fully to each of us each time we forget that we had already been explained. Recommend to those looks for dental help.

Been taking my daughter here since right before the pandemic hit. We got a little behind having to wait for things to open back up but it's been a breeze since then!! Everyone one is always so friendly and helpful!!

I recently had to transfer from another office because they made mistakes , the team is making the transition easy and seamless. They are all so kind and precise. Dr. Anderson noticed components in my braces that my previous office didn't. Taking steps to make it the best experience possible. We would highly recommend New Braunfels braces! Both my girls are patients here and since the beginning the staff has been amazing! Ana was great during consultation & get started.
