With over 25 years of practice experience, he brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and insight to his dental care. He is committed to providing all patients with the utmost in compassionate, considerate, and professional dentistry. He was voted Most Likely to Succeed at St. Matthew in 1979 and has definitely done just that by helping his patients succeed in achieving incredible oral health. His dental practice was the first in New Albany, and it has remained a customer favorite since opening up 23 years ago! Dr. Backiewicz also received advanced training from the Pediatric Dental Welfare Clinic from 1991 1996, and he served as the secretary for the State Chamber of Commerce in 2011.

I'm really sad doctor Tim retired. The new dentist hands shakes constantly as I got work done. This new guy can't tell a root canal from a heart surgery. I have been treated like garbage and been called the "R-world" several times for asking for basic post operation work. I do not recommend this practice to anybody except sadists who enjoy pain at a top level. If you choose this practice, good luck

I switched dentists for the first time in 27 years and to say it was with trepidation, is an understatement. Well, I could not have chosen a better place to land! I felt comfortable from the moment I walked through the door. Things were explained in detail and I was never made to feel rushed out the door for the next patient. And make a note: Dr. Stock is funny.

Absolutely love the experience that I have received with the staff and with Dr. Timothy Backiewicz. I'm such a wimp when it comes to going to the dentist and they always welcome me with the best care! I came in for a teeth cleaning and so happy with them walking me through the process, as my anxiety can sometimes get the best of me (even during a teeth cleaning, yes). I cannot tell you the last time that I have gone to another dentist and felt at ease leaving there. It's a comfortable, clean and upbeat atmosphere. I really enjoy the fun conversations with everyone! Since I have been coming to see Dr. Timothy Backiewicz, I can honestly say I could never go anywhere else! I look forward to my next teeth cleaning now!

I met Dr Larry today as he was covering appts in the office! He is EXCELLENT! Friendly and caring... I had a crown reattached, a tooth fixed from a chip and my teeth adjusted a but for a heavy bite that was causing pain. Found out I've been teeth grinding that contributed. Dr Gamby was professional and fun to converse with! Highly recommend!

I met Dr Larry today as he was covering appts in the office! He is EXCELLENT! Friendly and caring... I am extremely particular about my dental care needs with very good reason , at one time I was married to a dentist. I would not trust my family to anyone else. Dr. Tim is exceptional, especially with injections. There is virtually no pain at the injection site and despite having to have multiple doses because I metabolize them quickly .. it stays numb through the entire procedure. My hygienist , Brittney is wonderful and extremely thorough. Everyone I've seen at this practice has been nothing but a completely pleasure to deal with. If you are looking for a new dental practice to join .. look no further. I highly recommend Dr Tim and his staff. It's a great experience ... well as great as going to the dentist can be that is.

This review comes from all 6 people in our family: Find another dentist. Every one of us had dental work done at here, and had to get it all redone by another dentist. Although the staff is friendly, ultimately a dentistry should deliver quality work. Unfortunately, we wasted a lot of money coming here. For your own sanity and savings - find another dentist.

First experience with Dr. Backiewicz today taking my 8 year old to get some cavities filled. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with Dr. Backiewicz from the start. He's very engaging, upbeat, easygoing, and seems to genuinely care for his patients. The thing I liked the most was how he communicated. He was aurhentic and talked with my child (not at him) at his level, without talking down to him. I had a nightmare of a dentist when I was young, and thankfully, this experience with Dr. Backiewicz was the complete opposite of what I remember. Big fan!

Most excellent experience. Warm and friendly professionals! Tim spent plenty of time for an emergency crown. Alivia did a some wonderful work to correct to problem and set up final repair. I will be returning for my regular office visits having located a great group of pros!

First off let me start by saying almost the entire staff is absolutely amazing. They are very friendly and they keep files on everyone, not just on their medical history, but what's going on with your personal life. So when you go in for a cleaning (like I have for several years) you can pick the conversation right up where you left off. It was my favorite part about visiting the dentist. All that changed, however, when I was told I needed a filling in one of my back molars. Now, I do fine with cleanings, but anything that requires a drill gives me an incredible amount of anxiety. Dr. Tim is sympathetic, and prescribes medication to help me get through it. Good deal. So I go in and have the filling done. Well, a few months later I'm in pain. So I have to get it redone. Few months after that, my x-rays show the filling (that was fixed twice now) wasn't completely sealed, and now I may have damage to the root. They go and fill it a 3rd time. Now, I mentioned I have anxiety during any dental procedure that involves a drill. I was sweating like crazy during my 3rd procedure. Dr. Tim wipes my forehead and starts mocking me for being so nervous. Like seriously dude, I'm halfway to a panic attack and you're joking about it. Well, after he finished that filling, guess what: he messed it up for the 3rd time. I tell him I'm still in pain, so he takes an x-ray. Dr. Tim says the x-ray looks fine, and it's probably just my gums healing. Couple weeks later I go and get a 2nd opinion with a new dentist. He takes 1 look at the repair(s) Dr. Tim made and says to me "Good Lord, an actual dentist did this to you?". I'm not even kidding. My new dentist apologized for Dr. Tim's shoddy work, and even said this was an embarrassment to the profession. My new dentist was able to fix the mess Dr. Tim made to this tooth, but it took about 3hrs to do it. Also, his bedside manner didn't involve mocking people who are clearly in a lot of anxiety. So if you need a dental cleaning, this place is great. But if Dr. Tim comes anywhere near you with a drill, you run, and run far.

My family and I have been patients at NAFD since we moved to Ohio in 2008. The staff are wonderful. The office is pleasant, peaceful and immaculate. The care we have all had here is wonderful.

I seemed to always have "needed" work when I came to Dr. Tim. And they were NOT gentle. I wonder if they were doing unnecessary work to pay for their swanky office. I switched back to my old dentist and haven't needed anything other than cleanings. Run away from this practice.
