For nearly 50 years, Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC) has provided high-quality medical, dental and behavioral health services to medically underserved communities in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys. We continue to carry on the mission established in 1971 by a group of community leaders who founded NEVHC to provide a dependable healthcare resource for residents of the San Fernando Valley who may have otherwise been unable to afford health services. Their vision for a healthier community continues to thrive nearly 50 years later with 17 health centers and 12 Women, Infants and Children (WIC) sites in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys. Annually, more than 70,000 patients are served at the health centers and an additional nearly 39,000 at the WIC site.

Throughout the pandemic, NEVHC has continued to lead patients and community members towards optimal health by providing robust COVID-19 testing services and vaccination, implementing a drive-thru model of care, offering telehealth services and organizing food drive events where almost 23,000 pounds of food were distributed in 2020. Northeast Valley also proactively connects patients to social and economic support services such as access to nutritious foods, housing and transportation to address systemic barriers that impact patient health outcomes. Within the next two years, Northeast Valley will continue to expand health services with the addition of a new health center in Van Nuys and expanded dental services in the Santa Clarita valley to meet the need for high-quality care and support the community during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since 1973, Northeast Valley Health Corporations philosophy and belief has been that everyone has the basic human right to safe and quality health care regardless of economic status or ability to pay. Proudly, our goal is to provide accessible healthcare services and programs in a culturally and linguistically competent manner for a healthy, vibrant community.

NEVHC, as a nonprofit federally qualified health center (FQHC), is mandated by federal regulations to maintain a Board of Directors that is made up of a minimum of fifty one percent (51%) of directors who receive their healthcare directly from NEVHC. The rest of our members are interested community professionals that either live or work in our service area they are members of the community; they are patients of NEVHC. Northeast Valley Health Corporation is truly a community owned and operated Community Health Center.

As volunteer members of the Board of Directors, members are charged with the governance of NEVHC; a policy-setting board. New members are provided with an orientation on NEVHC our facilities and the programs and services that are provided in the community. Members receive free training, meals, reimbursement for child care, mileage and the opportunity for some limited paid travel.

If applying as a CONSUMER/PATIENT member, you must be a current patient and actual user of health center medical services (within the last six months), with NEVHC being the primary source of your health care. If applying as a PROFESSIONAL member, you must live or work in the community and represent an area of expertise needed by the Board of Directors.
