Dr. Nester felt that the practice was a perfect fit for her and took over in early 2017. It has been an exciting and wonderful journey to this point. Dr. Nester feels that it truly is a 'team' effort that has helped the transition succeed and continue to grow.
The current location of the practice opened it's doors in 2012 and has an airy beach feel with a mix of local art and fun dental decor. We attempt to reduce our environmental footprint by utilizing electronic health records and completely digital dental imaging software.
As a dentist, Dr. Ashley Nester understands that patient care is more than just fixing teeth. She makes an effort to understand each patients unique concerns in order to enhance the level of care she can provide. Dr. Nester feels privileged to be a partner in a patients journey to achieving dental health. She finds it immensely rewarding to see her patients happy because they are no longer in pain, or because they feel more confident about their smile.
Dr. Nester graduated with honors from James Madison University. She was among the top graduates in her class in earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 2008. Dr. Nester completed a General Practice Residency Program at the Veterans Health Administration in San Diego and subsequently served as a member of the National Health Service Corps. For the past nine years, she has had the satisfaction of helping patients achieve dental health in the private practice setting.
Dr. Nester is a past board member of the Junior Womans Club of Williamsburg, and also enjoys participating in many community dental outreach programs. She is a member of the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, as well as the American Dental Association and its local chapters.
Dr. Nester grew up in Chesterfield, VA, but loves living in the Hampton Roads area. She is fond of the proximity to both the mountains and the water and enjoys experiencing the distinct seasons that Virginia has to offer.

This is the greatest medical office experience I've ever had!! The staff is amazing very attentive, helpful, informative and genuinely care for the patients. Dr. Nester is awesome again very informative of all the options, (not only the options that would line there pocket), helpful, greatest dentist I have ever been to. If I moved out of town or state I truly would drive back to keep them as my dentist. Amazing

I don't know anyone who says, "Oooo goodie, I get to go to the Dentist today!" But the folks at Nester Dental make an uncomfortable, "I gotta go do this thing", into a reasonably comfortable experience. I was in for a cleaning which in the past with other dental professionals has been less than exciting. I have had dentists that were condescending, arrogant and WAY to talkative. Also, I am the sort that feels that I am paying for a service and not a lecture on my lack of flossing or sugar intake. (I can get lectures from my mother for free!) The ladies at Nester Dental treated me like the adult that I am and they seemed very pleased that I had chosen them to be my Dental provider. I would highly recommend Nester Dental to anyone who wants to be treated like an Adult, wants to feel as comfortable as possible (as comfortable as a dentist chair can feel, lol) and wants to be treated with respect and dignity while someone has their fingers in your mouth. Thanks to all those who provided me with my most recent Dental Visit.

We took our two boys to see Dr. Nester for routine cleanings and could not have been more impressed. From the front desk, to the hygienist, and to Dr. Nester herself. Dr. Nester and her staff make you feel like part of the family. Dr. Nester explains everything and is very knowledgeable. The staff are so friendly and nice , they make you not mind coming to the dentist. I highly recommend going to the office and seeing for yourself. You will be happy you did!

I worked in the dental field for 14yrs and loved it and miss it; I left to care for my mother.-- When I find a dentist whom I would work for, that's where I take my family. Dr. Nester has exceeded my expectations. With an excellent bedside manner, she will give you all the time you need to ask questions so you understand all of your options for treatment. Since I consider myself well educated w.in the field, I can tell she is most interested in what's best for you individually and financially; there aren't many dentists out there who have both considerations in mind for their patients. I can also tell she has taken time to make sure the staff who surrounds her are as compassionate, not only about dentistry, but about quality patient care as she is; truly a wonderful group of people. I have always felt nothing short of part of the "family" there. I highly recommend Dr. Nester.
