I am the office manager and treatment coordinator. My goal is to make every day efficient and enjoyable. Ive loved Orthodontics ever since I had braces as a teenager. Dentistry is my passion and I really enjoy seeing all the smiling faces! Outside of the office, you will find me spending time with my family, shopping or boating & waterskiing.

I am one of the patient care coordinators and my job is to make sure you have a great dental experience from start to finish. Part of that involves making sure patients are well informed regarding their dental treatment and insurance. I chose Pediatrics because I love kids. Dentistry, in general, has always fascinated me especially with all the new advances they are making every day! I enjoy running, reading and spending time with my family my husband, our 2-year-old daughter Harper, and our 9-year-old son Kingston.

I am one of the Patient Care Coordinators in the office. Dentistry chose me! Ive been interested in dentistry since the first time my grandpa put me in his dental chair. I also love kids so this job is perfect! In my free time, I love anything outdoors, trying new foods, and most of all spending time with my son, Hendrix.

I am a Patient Care Coordinator in the office. I love being the liaison between patients and doctors, helping to provide a seamless experience from booking to service. I love pediatrics and seeing all the kiddos come in and have a positive dental experience. In my free time, I like spending time outside with my husband, daughters, and pup Hudson. PNW born and raised, we love celebrating all the seasons especially when we get snow in the city.

My role in the office is an Orthodontic Assistant. Ive always loved going to the dentist as a child. I love seeing patients before and after treatment, and how the changes affect people in a positive manner. I love hanging out with my hubby Stephen and all of our pets. We have a dog named Tia and 2 cats that require a lot of attention.

My role in the office is mostly as an orthodontic assistant, however, I love spending time on the pediatric side as well. Ive always loved going to the dentist and orthodontist since I was little. I enjoy helping kids learn to love their smiles! When Im not in the office, I spend time outside walking, hiking, and skiing. I also like to be with my husband, friends, and sweet pup, Gus!

I am Dr. Nelsons and Dr. Millers pediatric and orthodontic expanded function dental assistant. My job is to educate my patients and make them as comfortable as possible while assisting with treatment. I chose dentistry because I love improving other peoples lives and gaining new knowledge every day! Part of my soul lives on the Oregon coast and theres nothing I love more than going to the beach with my family (except maybe some really delicious food!)

I am a Dental Assistant with the Pediatric team here in the office. I chose to pursue dentistry to be able to create a fun and safe space for patients. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, puzzles and board games.

At Nelson Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, we strive to create a comforting and relaxing office environment, while efficiently managing your children dental needs, and the orthodontic needs of the entire family, including mom and dad.

As a trained Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Casey Nelson is committed to making your childs experiences at our office pleasant, which in turn generally helps alleviate parents anxiety. Our Orthodontist, Dr. Catie Miller uses current techniques to make having braces, Invisalign, and other orthodontic appliances as comfortable as possible. Having these two specialties in one office ensures that growth and development is monitored from an early age to determine if and when orthodontic treatment is indicated.

Our state of the art facility was designed by Drs. Nelson and Miller to engage patients imaginations, while still providing a fun and soothing environment for both patients and parents. It is a place that everyone can feel confident and well informed of their treatment options A place where the doctors are approachable and take the time to educate patients A place where flexible financial arrangements can be made so that finances do not hinder anyones access to quality care in a technologically advanced, brand new private specialty practice.

Dr. Nelson spent two years at an advanced training residency, during which time he treated only children and special needs patients. During this time, he became familiar with behavior modification techniques that will assure that your childs experience at Nelson Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics is as pleasant as possible. The fact that Dr. Nelson only treats children means that he is always finding new and efficient ways to put you and your child at ease.

Dr. Miller spent two and a half years completing her advanced training residency, during which time she only practiced Orthodontics. Having spent this time learning the biology and mechanics of tooth movement allows Dr. Miller to provide her patients with the best care possible. Each patient has different needs and goals, and Dr. Miller is committed to customizing treatment plans so they are specific for each patient.

Its more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces, so the teeth and gums are healthy during orthodontic treatment. Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning. Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist during orthodontic treatment. Watch the two videos below on the proper care of braces during orthodontic treatment.

What can you eat? Lets talk about what you shouldnt eat! For the first day or so, stick to soft foods. Avoid tough meats, hard bread, and raw vegetables. Before long, youll be able to bite a cucumber again. But youll need to protect your orthodontic appliances when you eat for as long as youre wearing braces.

When you get your braces on, you may feel general soreness in your mouth and teeth may be tender to biting pressures for 3 5 days. Take Tylenol or whatever you normally take for a headache or discomfort. The lips, cheeks, and tongue may also become irritated for one to two weeks as they toughen and become accustomed to the braces. We will supply wax to put on the braces in irritated areas to lessen discomfort.

To successfully complete orthodontic treatment, the patient must work together with the orthodontist. The teeth and jaws can only move toward their corrected positions if the patient consistently wears the rubber bands or other appliances as prescribed. Lack of cooperation following instructions and damaged appliances lengthen the treatment time so, please follow instructions.
