Nelson was specifically chosen by Dr. Harry Batt to take over the practice because he knew Dr. Nelson would be able to maintain the practices high quality of both service and care.

Dr. Nelsons personal approach to dentistry involves providing conservative and customized care for each patient in order to meet all of their needs both in and out of the treatment chair. Hes able to do this because he, along with his team, are continually educating themselves to use the latest and most advanced technology. Above all else, he strives to do everything with integrity, because out of everything he provides for his patients, he knows that the most important thing is trust.

We believe that its our duty as caregivers to help people whether they are within our office or not, which is why Dr. Nelson and our entire team frequently donate our time and expertise to a number of organizations with causes that are near and dear to our hearts.

We regularly participate in Special Smiles for the Special Olympics so that the athletes can fully show their joy while they are competing, as well as Habitat for Humanity to help house local families. We also donate free dental services to local underprivileged families who normally wouldnt have access to essential dental care. We consider everything we do around the community an extension of our practices main mission, which is simply to help people.

Dr. Nelson loves working with dental patients to create beautiful, healthy smiles they can feel confident in sharing. Hes been serving Louisiana residents since 2013, and he looks forward to continuing to provide outstanding, high-quality dentistry for years to come. A native of Baton Rouge, Dr. Nelson graduated from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge and went on to pursue his doctor of dental surgery at the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Additionally, Dr. Nelson is oral conscious sedation and Invisalign certified. He completed the Heartland Aesthetic Continuum and has studied at the Spear Institute in order to provide a wider range of high-quality dental services for every patient he treats. As an active member of the professional community, Dr. Nelson maintains membership in the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, New Orleans Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Nelson is happily married to his wife, Courtney. They have a cat named Lucy, a dog named Charlie, and when time permits, he enjoys running, reading, and watching LSU and Saints games. Dr. Nelson also loves to play guitar, and he was in a cover band while in college.

Courtney is originally from here in Metairie. She studied at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She actually worked in the legal field for five years before getting involved in dentistry. Today, her favorite part of her job here at Nelson Dental Care is being able to help patients and work with them so closely.

Courtney is happily married to Dr. Nelson, and they have a cat named Lucy and a dog named Charlie together. Her hobbies outside of the practice include traveling, going to Saints games, and indoor cycling.

Sheryl studied dental hygiene at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Today, she has been working in this field for well over 25 years! She really enjoys getting to know her patients on a personal level and give them the clean, healthy, and happy smile they deserve.

A New Orleans native, Sheryl is the very proud mom of four grown children who are all LSU graduates. In her spare time away from work, she enjoys jogging, riding her cruiser bike, playing golf, traveling, and (of course) hanging out with the kids. She also just joined a book club.

Lindsay has been working in the dental world for a full decade so far. She studied at Delta College and is EDDA-certified, with advanced training in placing and restoring dental implants. She also teaches a dental assistant course on the weekends! She really likes working alongside such wonderful people, and the patients truly make this position rewarding. Her love for dentistry grows more and more every day.

Originally from New Orleans, Lindsay is the oldest of three siblings. In her spare time, she likes to travel, play volleyball, keep up with Saints football, shop, be on the water, and have fun with her loved ones.

Originally from Destrehan, Brandi studied at the Accelerated Dental Assisting Academy. Brandi recently completed her certification for EDDA, at LSU School of Dentistry. Today, what she enjoys most about her position is how positive everyone around her is, as well as the wonderful patients!

Brandi is happily engaged and currently working with her fianc to build a home together. She also has a pet pig and cat. When she isnt busy at work, you can often find her hanging out with friends and family, going out on boat days, and fishing.

Marci may be relatively new to our team, but she has an impressive 10+ years of experience in the dental field! She attended college at Louisiana State University, and she has undergone additional training in local anesthesia. When asked the best thing about her job, she shared that its getting to know each patient, educating them, and improving their oral health.

Although Marci was born and raised right here in Louisiana, she lived in NYC for nearly ten years. She came back in 2019 with her husband, David, and two sons, John Michael and Graham. In her free time, she loves chatting with neighbors on her front porch, calligraphy, and building forts with her kiddos!

Charlie was originally found in Lafayette Parish. He was rescued by Creole Poodle Rescue and subsequently adopted by Dr. Nelson and his wife, Courtney. His favorite part about being at the office is all the love and attention he receives from our patients.
