The Farmerville office was purchased in June of 2007 by Dr.Costello from Dr. Tommy Ward. A year and a half later the other side of the building owned by Dr. William Roberts was purchased by Dr. Costello. The entire dental office was remodeled by Dr. Costello and Farmerville Dental was born. The practice flourished and Dr. Costello hired Dr.DanielRaymond in 2009. In 2011, Dr. Raymond bought in as partner.
In November of 2011, Dr. Costello and Dr. Raymond bought an existing practice in Dr. Costellos home town of Oak Grove, and Oak Grove Dental was born. As needs grew for a dental office performing all aspects of dentistry under one roof, Dr. Costello and Dr. Raymond bought the practice of Dr. Sam Trinca and Dr. David Barker in Monroe, and Monroe Dental was born.
In 2014, all three offices names were changed to NELA Dental. In 2015, Dr. Emily Wilhite joined the Monroe office and works part time at the Farmerville office. RyanRachal,D.D.S. joined the NELA Dental team in 2017.
After graduation from Kilbourne High School and Northeast Louisiana University, Dr. Costello received his doctorate from LSU School of Dentistry in 2005. He is a member of American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association and Northeast Louisiana Dental Association. He completed the MCG/AAID Comprehensive Training Course in Implant Dentistry in 2009
Costellos most recent achievement happened in 2018 when he became a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID). The American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry Diplomate (ABOI/ID) designation symbolizes the highest level of competence in implant dentistry. Dr. Vance Costello is the only practicing dentist in North Louisiana with the ABOI/ID board certification, and one of only four ABOI/ID Diplomates in all of Louisiana. Certification by the ABOI/ID attests to the fact that a dentist has demonstrated knowledge, ability, and proficiency in implant dentistry through a rigorous examination process. Costello worked tremendously hard for nearly a decade to achieve this prestigious designation. In addition to this accreditation, Dr. Costello has completed the American Academy of Implant Dentistrys Comprehensive MaxiCourse and is Fellow of the AAID. Also, hes an instructor with Advanced Implant Educators (AIE) and Implant Know-How.
Dr. Raymond grew up in Monroe, Louisiana where he attended St. Frederick High School and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. While enrolled at ULM, he was a member of the Warhawk Baseball team playing catcher and first base
He graduated from LSU School of Dentistry in 2009. Dr. Raymond is a member of the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, Northeast Louisiana Dental Association, and a Fellow of the American and International Dental Association.
Dr. Raymond is married to Sarah Taylor Raymond and has three beautiful children, Caroline, William, and Lizzie Jane. Dr. Raymond is an avid duck hunter and enjoys training his two Labrador retrievers. He also enjoys spending time with his family.
