Despite being uncomfortable, dry mouth alone is not a severe issue as long as it is not persistent. If it is, it can lead to various long-term health issues, ranging from irritating to dangerous. Someone who suffers from chronic dry mouth will likely experience mouth sores, splits at the corners of the mouth, cracked lips, increased plaque buildup & a greater risk of tooth decay & gum disease. You might even start to have nutrition issues, because the lack of saliva makes it more difficult to break down food when you eat.
Even if your dry mouth does not seem to be persistent, it is important to stay on top of treating it. The good news is that treatment is simple for most cases of dry mouth. First, make sure you stay hydrated by sipping on water throughout the day. For your dental & overall health, you should drink lots of water anyway! Dehydration, which dry mouth can be a sign of, is a serious health risk.
Other simple things you can do to treat dry mouth include chewing sugarless gum & limiting the salt, sugar & caffeinated drinks in your diet. Some people might recommend sucking on an ice cube or sugarless hard candy, but this can actually damage your teeth, so dont do it! You can also purchase nonprescription saliva substitutes over the counter to reduce your current issues.
If you use tobacco or drink alcohol, cut back on those or find a way to quit. Even if you dont think smoking or drinking is the root cause, those activities can irritate a dry mouth, so you should limit or stop them entirely. Plus, theyre just bad for you!
The best treatment for dry mouth always depends on the specific cause, so if home remedies or over-the-counter solutions dont prevent your dry mouth, it can indicate a more serious underlying health issue. In serious cases it is best to visit a physician or dentist who can work with you to figure out the root cause of your dry mouth & help you treat it.

Horrible clinic my father went there with half of his gave infected eye They told us it's 75 bucks then it went to1800 bucks I will ever go there again my father was in pain amd very mad that they didn't do anything!!But they will take the money from you first and then give you your ID back.Dont go there very bad dentists

My experience from beginning to end was very pleasant. The staff were very nice and welcoming, as well as professional. This was the first time that I've ever felt relaxed and comfortable at a dental visit and I would definitely recommend giving them a try.

I have EXTREME dental anxiety and this place was great in every way. It was quick and comfortable, which says a lot coming from me. Outside looks interesting but inside is great, clean, comfortable. Dr Lisa was so nice and helpful. Definitely going back.

I like going here because they make the dentist experience positive. I enjoy the staff as they do their job pleasantly and they help keep granola out of my gums. lol Thank you and yes I will come back again. I'm only giving them 4 stars because I don't want em to get the big head knowledgeable staff clean environment, what more can I say.check em out for yourself.

Thank you very much Dr. Hayfaa Mansor and all staff of the Neighborhood family Dentest. I wasn't comfortable visiting any Dentist since covid 19 virus started but this is my 2nd visit to this clinic it is very clean, all dental tools are sealed for each patient , all dentasts, hygienist, tech and assistants are highly skilled, qualified and they work as a professional team. I am very satisfied to be examined and will be treated at Neighborhood family Dentist.

SCAM. Went here to get cleanings for myself and my husband. Couldn't get into our regular dentist (before a coverage gap) so decided to try here. I have to say the hygienist and cleaning job was amazing!! When Dr came in and told my husband he had 13 cavities and the cost, something wasn't right. A grown man, who has never had cavities in his life, all the sudden acquired 13 cavities in 1 yr. NOT. Been to dentist since that visit and not one filling or cavity insight. UPDATE: Please don't be fooled. Family Dentistry has both my husband and I in their system. We were only their once due to an upcoming gap in coverage. Tried to scam for 13 fillings. Back with our regular dentist and not 1 filling or issues with teeth before or after Family Dentistry.

I drive 40 mins to this clinic. They are always on time and never make me wait. Good service and very friendly and professional staff. They don't only fix the problem, they teach you how to avoid future problems with your teeth. They also give a gift when you leave and I truly love it.
