Born in Trinidad, Dr. Ramai earned his degree at the University of the West Indies. He went on to work at the university as a part-time lecturer and clinical instructor for four years while practicing dentistry full-time in a private practice.
As a firm believer in continuing education, Dr. Ramai furthered his studies with a one-year postgraduate general practice residency at the University of Puerto Rico. He further attained an advanced certification in general dentistry with an emphasis on the surgical placement and restoration of implants with a two-year postgraduate residency at the University of Maryland. In both of his residencies mentioned above Dr. Ramai focused on mastering the skills of cosmetic dentistry. He received a Fellowship from the Academy of Dentistry in 2007.Ramai pursued his Mastership in General Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University between 2007 and 2013. In June of 2013 obtained the prestige of Master from the Academy of General Dentistry. He was awarded the distinctions of Fellow and Master from the International Congress of Oral Implantology. In 2015, he obtained the prestige of Diplomat from the International Congress of Oral Implantology. In addition, Dr. Ramai has obtained the Status of Platinum Plus Invisalign Provider and, furthermore, Platinum Teen Invisalign Provider. He also performs necessary Invisalign treatment in kids as early as 8 years old to benefit long-term and stable bites and to help prevent future sleep apnea problems in adulthood. Dr. Ramai is also a certified CPR instructor from The American Red Cross.
Dr. Ramai has earned many honors and awards over his career. Most recently, Dr. Ramai was awarded as one of America's Top Dentists for 2009 and again in 2011, as assessed by the Consumers Research Council of America. In addition, he was named with Honors in the Strathmore's Who's Who Professional Assessment Council for 2009. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society, the International Congress of Oral Implantology and the Implant Society of Northern Virginia. Most recently, Dr. Ramai has become a member of the elite group The American Academy of Clear Aligners and is an Invisalign Regional Doctor Mentor (IRDM) to many dentists in Virginia. Finally, he is a Sub-Regional Doctor Clinical Mentor in Virginia.
Dr. Ramai is fluent in Spanish. Most Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, you will find him volunteering at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic. In his free time, Dr. Ramai enjoys going to the gym, cooking and salsa dancing and was once a Latin dance instructor. He also participates in various outdoor activities such as scuba diving, volleyball, tennis, kayaking and hiking. He currently lives in Fredericksburg. Dr.

This place is ridiculous they give me an appointment for 4 PM when I get here the desk lady tells me that they are so busy that she can't call my insurance that I have to call myself so it holds us up for another 20 minutes and then they tell me they can't take care of me because it is 430 and they close at five even though I've been there since 345. What's the point of an appointment if you are not going to honor it. I would give a lower rating if possible. The older lady at the front desk told me sorry we are busy it's only two of us here so you need to call and figure it out. Really!

I would not recommend this place solely due to the lack of customer service skills from the male "Indian" doctor. He is very rude and doesn't talk nice to his assistants. When he speaks to patients he comes off as stuck up, unkind, and just rude. To be very clear, this review is solely about the dentist and not everyone else who works there. The front of the house was good. The dental assistant was amazing. The dentist was horrible. I will never go back to this place.

What a great place! Not only is it so nice that they are open at 7 am on a Saturday, the entire front desk staff was so friendly and seemed to truly enjoy being there, Dr. Ramai really was great in explaining the care that I would need for the health of my teeth before doing anything cosmetic, the office is clean and beautiful and inviting, I actually can't wait to go back, all around great experience!

Actually I know that I'll get great dental care as did my husband previously but couple things 1. My appointment at 0930 am. Seen 15-20 min after appointment time before taken back Imaging gentle and complete 2 briefly met dentist who recommended crown 3. Met with financial rep to go over billing estimates that went well 4. Have appt next day afternoon for crown.

I highly recommend Dr. Ramai & staff. He did a thorough dental exam, was very clear in explaining what needed to be done, and provided me options. I had to have a root canal done, and the entire process was pain free. He thoroughly numbed me and I barely felt a pinch as the needle went in. I am very happy with how it turned out and plan to continue with the remaining treatment plan he recommended for me. Every time I come in, I am always warmly greeted & never have to wait long. All of the dental technicians are very friendly & put me at ease. Best dental office I've been to in years!

So I've had issues with Neibauer Harrison crossing for a while now but tosay just put me over the edge. Not only do they try to upset you on literally anything, even when your teeth really arnt on that bad condition they make it seem like everyone needs invisaline. At EVERY SINGLE APPT! Today was the worst, I had a filling done 5 months ago that I needed to come back in to get filed down, been having sensitivity since. He gave me a perscription for toothpaste and sent me on my way. Today, still having the issue and he told me there's nothing he can do other that crown in because there's "nothing wrong with it". When I disagreed because I haven't had issues till the last time I came in he insisted I was wrong and left the room. I will not be back.
