Got my wisdom tooth out here, the Dr was nice and made me feel comfortable

I was recommended by my dentist to come to Dr. Nechvatal and believed this would be the best option considering I know people who have been here before with no problems. However, that was not the case for me. I went in for a consult for my wisdom teeth and potential implant and had no problems, or so I thought. They called and had me do an unnecessary CAT scan to see if my jaw was strong enough for an implant. After not hearing results for a long period of time, I called and they told me I needed to come in for another consult, but they were not lenient with scheduling and since I go to school across the state, I couldn't get back for a consult before COVID hit. Fast forward 6 months, I make the hike back to Lapeer for the consult where he tells me I need a bone graft. This has never been on the table for my implant, and would have created an extra 5k dollar expense, and 2 good insurances wouldn't cover it, telling me that it was medically unnecessary. After getting a second opinion from Dr. Frey at Greater Michigan Oral Surgeons in Flint, I successfully had my wisdom teeth and implant done and saved 5,000 dollars, 6 months of healing, and a big headache. Don't waste your time.

Weeks after my wife's procedure to remove a wisdom tooth, we received an additional bill for $120! At no time before the procedure or on the day of were we informed that the cost would be more. We paid for the procedure in full on the day of the procedure. It is criminal to bill after the fact.

If I could rate with negative stars I would do it. I received a bill for over $700 18 months after the procedure was done. There was NEVER any mention that the insurance company was not going to pay the full amount before the bill showed up. Not to mention their bill has virtually no details!! IF they had notified me in 2018, I could have paid it with my FSA, but now because of their lack of communication and ineptitude, this has to come out of my pocket when I am trying to pay off my husband's surgery bills (esophageal cancer) and chemo/radiation bills. I will never go back and would never recommend them. Condescending and just repeat the same stiff over again without offering any alternatives.

Dr. Nechvatal and his staff were so wonderful! I was extremely nervous for my wisdom tooth surgery and they were so informative, kind, and thorough.

I called to schedule an appointment, ( for an extraction of a tooth ) the receptionist was so rude from the start. And they could not get me in for four weeks for a consultation. First of all I would never go there, The receptionist never even took down my insurance information. (with excellent insurance I may add) in my opinion the front desk reflects on the Dentist, he might want to think about that.

A previous post said all about the money. True for my experience as well. This office charged for a procedure that they didnt do. Then wouldnt give my money back, said I had to wait until they seen if insurance covered my consult and they would put the money on that if needed. I went to a different great oral surgeon the next morning who charged less and did the procedure this dude wouldn't do. Wish I could give less than 1 star.

My husband needed quite a few teeth pulled. Had a consultation and moved forward with 3 extractions. Called back to schedule the remaining extractions in six weeks and they wanted money for another consultation first. Wanted x-rays sent to the family dentist and had to pay $25 for them. It's all about the money.

Was recommended to this place because I needed a wisdom tooth surgically removed. The receptionist Paige whom I started out with was absolutely TERRIBLE, and RUDE,. Wasn't a huge fan of Dr. Nechvatal, felt like he was very inconsiderate, and acted like he has never dealt with anyone who was nervous, or scared about getting a surgical procedure in their mouth. Also quoted me between 2600 to 3000 for a single surgical wisdom tooth removal. As to where I was quoted 1,000, and or less, at 3 different other places. Please if you are quoted at this place, get another opinion as well. I would never recommend this place. The only people that were helpful, and caring because I was so scared, and anxious was Tanya, and Wanda absolutely AMAZING.

Doctor is amazing. He helped me through the surgery process on two different occasions and restored my quality of life. The office staff is friendly, however, they are not reliable when it comes to coordinating with your insurance or calling you back. If you decide to receive treatment from this doctor plan on contacting the office staff multiple times to ensure they are staying on top of your chart and contacting insurance and other coordinating doctors.
