Occasionally a temporary crown may come off. Call us if this happens and bring the temporary crown with you so we can re-cement it. It is very important for the temporary to stay in place, as it will prevent other teeth from moving and compromising the fit of your final restoration.

After the blood clot forms, it is important not to disturb or dislodge the clot as it aids healing. Do not rinse vigorously, suck on straws, smoke, drink alcohol or brush teeth next to the extraction site for 72 hours. These activities will dislodge or dissolve the clot and retard the healing process. Limit vigorous exercise for the next 24 hours as this will increase blood pressure and may cause more bleeding from the extraction site.

After the tooth is extracted you may feel some pain and experience some swelling. An ice pack or an unopened bag of frozen peas or corn applied to the area will keep swelling to a minimum. Take pain medications as prescribed. The swelling usually subsides after 48 hours.

Use the pain medication as directed. Call the office if the medication doesnt seem to be working. If antibiotics are prescribed, continue to take them for the indicated length of time, even if signs and symptoms of infection are gone. Drink lots of fluid and eat nutritious soft food on the day of the extraction. You can eat normally as soon as you are comfortable.

It is important to resume your normal dental routine after 24 hours. This should include brushing and flossing your teeth at least once a day. This will speed healing and help keep your mouth fresh and clean.

After a few days you will feel fine and can resume your normal activities. If you have heavy bleeding, severe pain, continued swelling for 2-3 days, or a reaction to the medication, call our office immediately at 512-454-2583.

I cannot say strongly or more emphatically enough how excellent are the interpersonal and professional skills of the entire office and staff, starting with Dr Shah but extending to everyone.

I would give Dr. Shah and his staff 6 stars if I could. Having been ten years since my last dental appointment, I was super anxious to get back in the chair. Everyone working here is incredibly kind, warm, and easy to talk to. They use the latest technology for top notch care. Expressing my dental concerns and having them addressed without shame was paramount and Dr. Shah exceeded my expectations. My experience has been absolutely excellent and I leave feeling reassured after each appointment. If you're feeling apprehensive or have dental anxiety - do not hesitate to book with Dr. Shah. You're in great hands!

Looks like google removed my review. Would give zero stars if I could. Dr Shaw is a crook. It took numerous visits and Dr Shaw couldn't get it right. Had to see a different dentist to get it right. Spent over $6,000 and definitely wasted my money with this incompetent dentist.

I've never loved a dentist office so much! Every staff member there knows how to put a smile on my face. Though I had my pockets wide open Dr shah did not over sell me on procedures I didn't need but gave me what I did need to have a confident natural smile

I've seen over a dozen dentists over the decades. This one is my favorite. Great staff too. Relaxed environment, but they obviously serious about providing great care.

Their new imaging wand for a mouth guard was an amazing alternative to the gagging, messy impression tray. No mess! No gagging! And the best part was it was complete within 15 minutes. I'm so grateful for Dr. Shah and his team for investing into innovative technology for the ease and comfort of his patients.

I love the care that I get from Dr. Shah's office! As a dentist myself I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants top notch, high-quality dentistry. There are several dental professionals that I know who also go to him for their care. He has great chair side and does impeccable clinical dentistry! I Can't recommend him and his team enough!!

Dr. Shah and his staff are amazing! I've been going to see him for about 8 years and I have had excellent work done by him. He has also referred me to a specialist when indicated. In addition, he sends crowns to be done by a true artist. I can't say enough good about Dr. Shah!
