With awealth of experience in restorative dentistry, oral surgery, and prosthodontics, Dr. Neal utilizes his knowledge of practices from various oral health disciplines, in collaboration with other local specialists, totreatment planand managecomplex cases in a manner that keeps the individual needs of the patient at the center.He knowshow to create restorations that are not only high quality, but also give excellent esthetic results that patients appreciate.
Dr. Neal hasa love of learning and continues working hard to expand his knowledge and expertise beyond the scope of dental school by attending continuing education seminars and workshops. Recently, hehas been focusing on building a better understanding of sleep apnea and Temporomandibular Joint disorders (TJD), and the role that a dentist can have in screening and treating patients suffering from these disorders. In his role as the practice owner at Neal Family Dental, Dr. Neal has made a commitment to supporting ongoing professional development for his team as well.
In addition to his clinical skills, Dr. Nealtakes great pride in providing a positive experience for hispatients. It is his passion and priority to provide excellent, quality dental care in a way that makes patients feel welcome and safe. He strives to create a space for open dialogue with his patients so that they feel comfortable coming to me with their questions and concerns. The ultimate goal is for patients to feel informed and a sense of agency when making necessary decisions regarding their dental care.
Curtis originally called the east coast of the state home and moved to the Greater Lansing area after graduating from the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School in 2015 to be with his now-wife, Makena. After being 'landlocked' for five years while Makena completed her Ph.D., they both are thrilled to be on the west side (and closer to a Great Lake). They bothhave a great affinity for the Great Lakes and outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, skiing, and camping. They are proud Michiganders and are very happy to be building a home in Greater Kalamazoo for their son and two dogs.
Chelsea entered the dental field in 2015 as a dental assistant, and joined the team in 2018. She assists Dr. Neal chairside ensuring the best patient experience possible. She loves the variety of daily dental procedures, and making patients smile. In Chelseas spare time, she enjoys gardening, making pottery, and spending time with her pup and fianc.
Valerie has been practicing dental hygiene for 32years. She has been a part of this office for the past 28 years. She enjoys her job. Her goal everyday is to provide friendly personalized care to every patient. Outside of the office, she enjoys camping, kayaking, hiking and biking with friends and family.
Makena joined the administrative team in spring of2020, though she has been doing relevant work to her role since 2011. In addition to digital communications, Makena contributes to process and project management and is happy to share her expertise in workplace learning. Like her partner, Curtis, Makena enjoys outdoor activities with kiddo and pups, along with photography, embroidery, and baking.
Faith has been a part of the team since 1994and serves as our business assistant. Her cross training in Dental Assisting allows her to be flexible in helping others when needed. Outside of the office she enjoys walking, music, crafting and caring for all living creatures.

Always courteous, thorough, knowledgeable and professional staff. The Dentist is transparent and addresses treatment and other concerns with professionalism. I'm very comfortable at this office and lose quite a bit of my anxiety once I'm in the chair!

Dr. Neil and Staff are amazing! I feel he is a skilled dentist that cares about his patients. I had an emergency dental issue and he saw me immediately and took care of the issue so it wouldn't interfere with an upcoming surgery. I feel very confident with Dr. Neil and the excellent service I received! Thank you Dr. Neil!

I have been going to this office since I was a child. I have retired 2 dentists. I don't think I will retire out Dr. Neal! I continue to receive great dental care and the staff are always amazing! We could go to a closer dentist office but when you've got the best, it's worth the hour drive!
