Dr. Mark Evans has been practicing dentistry for over 23 years. He was born in Colorado and moved frequently due to his fathers career in the United States Air Force. He grew up spending time in Spain, Italy, Ohio and then settled in Tennessee in 1979. Dr. Evans graduated from Chattanooga Christian School in 1985. He attended Covenant College, the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and is a veteran of the US Army Reserve. Dr. Evans attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He is active within the dental profession gathering extensive continuing education world wide. He is a member of the ADA (American Dental Association), a fellow of the AGD (Academy of General Dentistry), a member of the AAID (American Academy of Implant Dentistry), and is a diplomat of the ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists). In 2012, Dr. Mark D. Evans received the highest Diplomat status within the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). Dr. Evans retains hospital privileges at Blount Memorial Hospital. He is an active member of River Oaks Community Church and enjoys serving through missions at the Lost Sheep, Trinity Dental Clinic in Maryville and internationally on mission trips. He is a proud husband and father. He is an outdoor enthusiast enjoying whitewater kayaking, backpacking, camping, snowboarding, beekeeping, and is an avid runner.

Mitch Prater is joining Natural Smiles after serving 25 years in the United States Navy as a dental officer. A Blount County native, he is a 1983 graduate of William Blount High School and earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Tennessee in 1987.

Dr. Prater attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1991. In 1993, Dr. Prater was commissioned as a lieutenant in the United States Navy Dental Corps. During his naval career, he served at various duty stations to include Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, and Marine Corps Base Camp Foster in Okinawa, Japan. He has served on humanitarian missions in Thailand, Kenya, and Liberia. He also deployed aboard USS Guam and USS Harpers Ferry. He completed his naval career holding the rank of Commander and serving at Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington, Tennessee. While residing in the Memphis area, he was an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church where he was involved in various mission projects to include the Christian Mobile Dental Clinic and the Mid-South Mission of Mercy. Dr. Prater is excited to be moving back to the area and is looking forward to working on his fathers cattle farm in Louisville, hiking with his family in the Smokies, and serving as a volunteer for local missions. He and his wife, Kelli, have four children.

Dr. Matthew Hillis has been practicing dentistry for nine years. He was born in Georgia and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee in 2011. After graduation he commissioned as an Captain in the Army Dental Corps and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Ft. Carson, Colorado, where he received training in complex dental cases and procedures. He was next assigned as a brigade dental surgeon in the 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, KY, and deployed to Jalalabad, Afghanistan in 2015. While deployed, he provided dental care to soldiers, trained Afghan medical personnel, and served as triage officer at the field hospital at Forward Operating Base Fenty. After returning from deployment, he was stationed with his family for three years in Vicenza, Italy before joining Natural Smiles. Dr. Hillis has a passion for dentistry and has completed over 250 hours of continuing education since graduating from dental school. He and his beautiful wife Mallory have three little boys, and are looking forward to hiking in the Smokies, joining a church, and becoming a part of the Maryville community.

Amber has been a registered dental hygienist for 12 years. She grew up in Etowah, Tennessee and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and East Tennessee State University before graduating with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene in 2008. Amber enjoys helping patients learn about their oral health and putting a smile on their face. She loves to be outside and enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking, biking, working out, and snowboarding. Amber joined Natural Smiles in 2016.

Wendy is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated in 2006 from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri. Wendy entered the dental field in 1998 when she joined the Arkansas Air National Guard. She currently serves as the Dental NCOIC at the 134th Medical Group at McGhee Tyson. When shes not working Wendy enjoys spending time with her husband, Matthew, and children Jax, Hollyn, and Caroline. As a family they enjoy exploring East Tennessee, beach vacations, going to church, and working around the house. Wendy feels truly blessed to be part of the Natural Smiles team.

Janna began her dental career in 1999 as a Registered Dental Assistant. She became a Dental Hygienist upon graduating from Roane State Community College in 2005. With her great desire to learn and do more in her field, she attained her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from ETSU in 2016. Janna has served in a volunteer capacity at different dental organizations in the area and has been involved at a local and state level within her professional organization. Janna loves serving her patients on a clinical level and getting to know about them and their families. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and doing many outdoor activities including hiking, jogging, and paddle boarding just to name a few. Janna currently lives in Maryville.

Mandi is a registered dental hygienist. She is from Maryville, Tennessee and graduated from Hiwassee College in 2012 with a degree in dental hygiene. She's been working in the dental field for 8 years and loves her career. She especially loves getting to know her patients and enjoys helping them better understand their oral health. She currently resides in Knoxville with her husband, Wes, her son, Daniel, and furbaby, Beasley. She is an active member of River Oaks Community Church and loves serving her community through different ministries at her church. Her favorite things are spending time with family, friends, cooking, and being outside.

Stacey has been a registered dental hygienist for 16 years, and has worked in dentistry for over 20 years. Prior to dental hygiene, she worked as a Registered Dental Assistant for 3 years, and as a receptionist prior to that. She pursued her dental hygiene degree and graduated from Roane State Community College in 2004. She has volunteered in many capacities to help the under served community with their dental needs, and is also very active within the local and state level of the Tennessee Dental Hygienists' Association. Stacey has a passion for helping patients understand and improve their oral and overall health. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Gus and their two daughters, Adalee and Olivia. They enjoy camping, spending time on the lake, and participate in a local vintage car club. She is excited to be a part of the Natural Smiles team!

Laurel is an expanded function dental assistant with more than 32 years of experience. She grew up in Florida and moved to Tennessee when she was 16 years old. Laurel started her career in Dentistry while still in high school, developing her skill set and honing her gifts for genuinely caring for and getting to know her patients. She has been with Natural Smiles for more than 22 years. Patients enjoy her vibrant and caring personality, frequently requesting her. Laurel is exceptionally gifted in explaining procedures and helping patients overcome their fears. She is happily married with a husband and daughter. She enjoys spending time with her granddaughters, reading and playing with her two miniature Dachshunds, Chloe and Tucker, and her Yorkie Lil Bit.

Chrissy is an expanded functions dental assistant with over 15 years experience. She loves working in the dental field and learning new things about dentistry. Chrissy feels blessed to be a part of the Natural Smiles team. Chrissy enjoys baking, decorating, attending games and school events for her children, spending time with her family and cheering on her Alcoa Tornadoes! Chrissy and her husband Di'Andre, Sr have two children, Di'Andre Jr. and Daziyah. Chrissy and her family attend High Praises Church.

Donavan is a registered Dental assistant with over 2 years of experience. He is a new addition to our office. Donavan's passion in dentistry comes from his heart to help others get out of pain or even make them feel more confident to smile. On his free time, he likes to go hiking in the mountains, painting, working out, but most of all he enjoys spending time with his Daughter and soon to be wife. He is a sho-dan black belt in Isshinryu karate and still is perfecting his skills and training to earn his black belt in jui jitsu.

Maddie is a new dental assistant pursuing her career here at Natural Smiles. She has lived in Maryville her whole life. Starting at John Sevier elementary, she graduated from Maryville High in 2020. She then attended Tennessee College of Applied Technology class of '20-'21, where she received her schooling to become a dental assistant. Maddie's older sister Kimberly, also a dental assistant, was her biggest inspiration to be a part of the dental field. Maddie truly loves doing her job and helping others all in one! In her free time she loves being outdoors fishing, sunbathing, and swimming. Her other hobbies include spending time with her family and boyfriend, babysitting, taking photography photos, drawing, and playing with her dogs.

Debbie is a native of East Tennessee. She has been with Natural Smiles since October 2002 and loves her job. She cherishes the friendships of the ladies in the office and appreciates the Christian environment in which she works. Debbie enjoys working with the public and helping patients with their dental and insurance needs. Getting to know our patients is important to her. She is married, a loving mother of two, and a proud grandparent She is a pianist at her church and is active in ministries there including the music ministry, womens ministry and community garden.

Angela is a new addition to our Natural Smiles team. She is excited to learn about dentistry and loves helping people. Originally from Indiana, Angela moved to East Tennessee in 2007. Angela and her husband Derrell have two boys and two girls. In her free time she loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and enjoys watching her kids sporting events.
