During a root canal treatment, the contents of the inner pulp chamber of the tooth, including the nerves and blood vessels are removed. Then the tooth is re-filled with a material called gutta-percha. The tooth is then sealed and capped with a crown.
These bacteria are free to grow and multiply in and surrounding the tooth, and since there is no nerve remaining in the tooth, patients do not sense pain if the infection grows. These bacteria can then enter the bloodstream to cause systemic problems throughout your entire body.
Also, the material used in the filling of the root canal can stimulate an immune response, which can cause patients to feel less than their best, and cystic lesions and scar tissue can form at the site of the root canal to affect your long-term oral health.

I cannot say enough about this fabulous practice and great team of professionals!! I was fearful, with my recent move to the area, of not finding a good holistic dental practice and I have been so grateful, and totally blessed, by everyone in this office who has been involved with my dental care. Everyone in the front office staff, the dental assistant and hygiene team, and Dr Mikey have been absolutely exceptional, and holistic in their treatment approach!!! I chipped an old crown and was provided with treatment beyond my expectations. Dr. Mikey and his team delivered gentle, precise, comfortable care with the restoration of that tooth, a new bridge and a new night guard. I highly recommend this amazing practice!!!!

Dr. Carlson is fabulous!! I had all of my old Amalgam (silver) fillings, and old crowns updated to all Porcelain (no metals)!!! I feel instantly lighter!! Metals in the mouth are toxic to our overall health!! She did a fantastic job!! Her entire staff is professional and knowledgeable! Dr. Carlson, Hector, and Piri (her assistants), went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, and well informed on the steps of my treatment today!! Thank you!! I highly recommend her office! It's modern and beautiful! Very happy with my services today!!

My whole family comes here for cleaning and treatments. Dr Carlson is the most knowledgeable and gentle dentist who I ever met. All the staff members are fantastic, efficient. My last cleaning was with Denise she is very caring and professional. I recommend this office for everyone I had a amazing experience!

I wrote a review in 2010, though it disappeared, as have other negative reviews: After Dr. Jonathan Bromboz retired and Dr. Carlson bought his practice, I became her patient. Unlike with Dr. Bromboz, there were then many foul-ups, like changing my treatment plan to add procedures that weren't ever diagnosed as being needed, which is falsifying records, contrary Florida Statutes. Also, I was not told before an appointment that another dentist was substituting for her. In the process of making a partial, the substitute dentist dropped the wax mold of my mouth on the floor, causing a [wax] tooth to fall off. He frantically stuck the tooth back on and wrongly claimed it was ok. As I was leaving, I informed the receptionist, who promptly put on her gloves, brought me back to the patient's chair, and fixed it. When the partial was purportedly done, I went back 10 times for it to be readjusted due to it cutting into my gums, making them bleed. Apparently, the mold wasn't properly taken. I since learned elsewhere that partial adjustments usually shouldn't take more than three visits. On my last readjustment visit, which was the final visit to her practice, Dr. Carlson ordered her assistant/technician to grind down the tooth on the partial below where it was cutting into my gums. I instantly noticed my opposing tooth didn't meet it, at which point she told me I would have to buy a new partial to fix it. Fortunately, another dentist was able to quickly fix the partial, including adding composite filling material to properly extend the false tooth and fix my bite. During the readjustment process, to remove plastic particulate I asked that the partial be rinsed off after each grinding. She falsely claimed the acrylic plastic is harmless, though I had to insist she do so. I wish Dr. Bromboz hadn't retired and sold her the practice. p.s. I'm saving this text so in case it's deleted again, I can easily re-post it.

I have been working with Dr Carlson for the past 3 - 4 years now and I have NEVER experienced a dental practice with such care in servicing their patients and with a depth of high level professionals in every discipline of dentistry they deliver. This week I needed assistance on very short notice and the very next day, Kelli open the door early - before business hours - and had me all fixed up, smiling like a Cheshire cat once again and out the door before any other patient walked in. Thank you Kelli and Dr Carlson for your outstanding care, service and professionalism. You have raised the bar for the industry

I am sure the staff is amazing and caring. But I waited in the lobby for half an hour before I asked what is happening and I was told there is a staffing issues. I simply said if you would have call me I would have come In a bit later or something. You know communication is a key. So bottom line I did not get anything done and it was a total waist of time. I don't flow power to a practice which is not respecting my time.

Simple the Best Deep Cleaning experience I ever had!!! I feel like not eating for 3 days now to keep my teeth and gums cleaned as much as they feel right now... On a separate note and not about me. I want to say that the Hygienist was exelent, she made sure all was totally understood.. She was very gentle, patient, caring, in good communication with me all the time. I felt very pleased and totally cared for... Thankful that I did not listen to "me" when I was skeptical to do my hygiene appointment... Highly recommend Natural and Cosmetic Dentistry!!!

I discovered this practice while researching root canal alternatives. My now former dentist said I needed a root canal. Turns out I didn't. To make a long story short, this group saved my tooth! Fast forward... I got my teeth cleaned today . 4 months since my first visit. So professional! Pain-free! Super group of people....and their competitively priced! . If you don't at least give them a try, you're cheating your dental health. This practice exists to save teeth not remove them. This is the exact opposite of your typical factory dental practice also known as a drill - fill - Bill money machine! Can't say enough good! They are truly first class!
