Dr. Thomas received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry, where he graduated with distinction in 2011. Dr. Thomas received his Certificate in Orthodontics at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2014. In 2015, Dr. Thomas became a Board Certified Orthodontist and continues to share his passion for orthodontics with his community.
Doctor Thomas is very familiar with the Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana area. He grew up in Michigan and attended Lakeshore High School in Stevensville. After graduation, he began his college career at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a pre-dental focus. After earning his Bachelors degree in Exercise Science, Bachelors of Science in Education, and Masters of Science degree in Nutrition, Dr. Thomas discovered his passion for orthodontics. In 2006, he returned to the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry to pursue his general dentistry education. During dental school, Dr. Thomas met his wife, Cheryl, and they became married in 2010.
After graduating and receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with distinction in 2011, Dr. Thomas received his Certificate in Orthodontics at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2014. In 2015, Dr. Thomas became a Board Certified Orthodontist after successfully completing the requirements by the American Board of Orthodontics. His diverse background has influenced his approach to serving others through to his exceptional people skills and wide variety of experience.
Dr. Thomas expresses his passion for orthodontics with his patients and staff by promoting a fun, caring, and down to earth atmosphere. However, he never compromises excellence, teamwork, and customer service. He believes in serving the entire person not just their teeth.

Nathan Thomas Orthodontics is the best around! I had a consultation months ago with an orthodontist is saint Joseph (Harrington) and it was not pleasant at all. I was so pleased with everyone from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I walked out. I will be telling everyone I know to use Nathan Thomas Orthodontist

Twice this past year my daughter has needed emergency orthodontic help. The orthodontist we see is in Chicago, so we were desperate for help while away from home. Dr. Thomas came to the rescue on both occasions, seeing her the day we needed help and solving the issues. I would highly recommend his services. I wish we lived here and that he was our orthodontist!

My daughter needed to get in for some dental issues. This place is amazing: they were able to see us right away, they we're all friendly and made my 6 year old feel comfortable, and there was never a time I thought they were in it just for the money. I felt that Dr. Thomas took the time to go over options, placing himself in our shoes. He felt more like a family friend then some orthodontist we just met. I will continue to go here for all orthodontic needs.

We have had braces on all 3 kids by 3 different orthodontists. The first was in a different state but the last 2 were here. Dr Thomas treated my middle daughter and he and his staff were amazing. My youngest felt like she connected better with the other orthodontist in our care, Harrington, and we let her make the final decision. Big mistake. We have had nothing but problems and indifferent attitudes there at Harrington's office. We have actually brought her back to Dr Thomas to fix some of the issues Harrington's office just couldn't seem to find the time to deal with, like wires poking into the side of her mouth. Dr Thomas has never even charged us for this although I would gladly pay, he just wants to make sure the kids are taken care of. If you have a choice between the 2 PLEASE do yourself a favor and choose Dr Thomas, he and his staff are the best.

As soon as we walked in, there was a sign that welcomed new patients, and my daughter's name was on the board. Every individual we worked with from the receptionist to the dental assistant to the Dr was all very pleasant, and it was genuine. Unfortunately, we have a bit before all the adult teeth are in, but I look forward to working with Dr. Thomas and his staff.

All three of my children have seen Dr. Thomas and we are pleased with the experience. We have had a variety of treatments--expanders, Phase I, Phase 2, consultations, follow-up care--you name it, we've had it. My son is missing his permanent lateral incisors and Dr. Thomas worked patiently to come to agreement with me on the best course of treatment for my son's missing teeth. I had a million questions and concerns about the best course of treatment. Dr. Thomas answered all my questions and even reached out to one of his mentors to ask about my son's case. I would recommend Dr. Thomas for your orthodontic needs.

Thomas Orthodontics did an admirable job of working with me on a prospective long-term dental procedure. I had a thousand questions and they patiently answered everything until I was satisfied (both as it pertained to the procedure and the financial aspect). In the end, the procedure I desired wasn't feasible as I saw fit (due to the way my teeth were aligned). Dr. Thomas put a lot of time and effort into my case but I appreciated that he was honest and forthright with me, unwilling to push ahead for the sake of cashing in. I tip my cap to Thomas and his support staff, all of whom couldn't have been more pleasant.

Staff is extremely professional. The office always runs on time. Dr Thomas is a wonderful physician and is great with kids and adults! All four members of the family have had braces (or will be getting them soon) and the experience was top notch. Very organized medical and financial plan and everything is explained thoroughly. Would highly recommend this office for orthodontic care.

I've been a patient for just over a year and my experience has always been 5 stars. I'm always greeted with a smile from the friendly staff, and I'm in and out because my appointment is always on time as scheduled. I make my appointments for my lunch hour from work, so this is very appreciated! I call if I have any questions about my braces, and the staff always goes above and beyond explaining any concerns I have with my treatment and brackets. I have recommended Dr. Thomas to all of my friends and family. It took years to make the commitment and I couldn't be more pleased with my smile and experience so far. Highly recommended!

We drive an hour to Nathan Thomas Orthodontics and it is worth it. The receptionists welcome you with a smile, the assistants are friendly and great with the kids, and Dr. Thomas is knowledgeable, down to earth, and professional. We love this place!
