Dr. Mayo has been practicing a broad range of General Dentistry in Florida for 42 of his 47 years of practice. A lifelong Florida resident, Dr. Mayo graduated first in his class from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. Currently serving more than 2,000 patients throughout the Central Florida area, Dr. Mayo focuses on providing the highest quality dental work at a reasonable price, and works closely with a variety of Board Certified Specialists to guarantee his patients receive the best care possible. He is a life member of the Florida and American Dental Associations, the Dental Society of Greater Orlando, and the Central District Dental Association. He likes his work, his patients, and the wonderful staff you are about to meet below.
Michelle has been involved in dentistry for over 15 years. Originally trained as a Certified Dental Assistant, she is now our front Desk Manager and doing a fine job of it. Her knowledge of insurance and scheduling effectively are the grease in the wheels of our machine. We could not function as a quality office without her hard work on the phone , file cabinet and computer. If she cant give you an answer for your immediate question, she will do some research and get back to you quickly.
Karen started with Dr. Mayo as his assistant in 1977, and has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 1992. She has mastered the art of making people feel at ease, which makes getting your teeth cleaned by her a simply great experience.
Lynn has been a Certified Dental Assistant since 1976 and has worked chair-side with Dr. Mayo since 2010. She has experience working in every dental specialty and has worked in some of the best oral surgery and cosmetic dental practices in the Southeastern US. She is an extremely dedicated and knowledgeable second set of hands.

I was solicited by email from this office to schedule an overdue appointment. Which I've put off since I don't like the hygienist. So I called and the following is regretfully my overall experience: 1st- There is a six month wait to schedule an appointment to see the Dr. , that is, if the hygienist decides she wants you as a patient. Administrative end was unprofessional and odd. Doesn't return calls and the time I got in touch, she bizarrely lectured me about having a job. The dental hygienist wants open availability to fill her canceled spots which is all they'd offer me. The dental hygienist is arrogant and seems to run the office by picking and choosing patients and controlling the amount of patients the Dr's allowed to see. And Considering she's the worst hygienist I've encountered, It has to be the free nitrous that creates a six month waiting list. Or maybe she's just dodging me, because she REMEMBERS SCRATCHING MY TOOTH with her tools previously. What happens if I really need to see the dentist? The hygienist acts like she's the Dr. No Dr. Degree, I could care less about her opinions! However, Dr. Mayo, on the other hand, was wonderful, but road block after roadblock from awful low level staff is regretfully forcing me elsewhere.

Best dentist and staff that I have encountered in my five decades of tooth-bearing. Everyone is kind and professional. His prices are very fair. They don't push dental plans unless you're teeth are really in need. More healthcare offices should model themselves after Dr Mayo and his staff!

Dr Mayo is honest and trustworthy and kind and gentle. You will not be charged for something you don't need here. This is the only place I will go for my teeth from now on. What a wonderful experience. He is the best!!

I recently went in to see Dr. Mayo for a simple bite issue. I was told I had a medium sized cavity and needed it filled. He immediately began drilling my small tooth with his hands shaking. A few short days later I began to feel pain in that area, jaw pain and severe ear pain. I called and Lynn was very compassionate and kind towards me. She tried to reach the dentist. No luck and no call back from him. I have been a patient there for 43 years so one would expect some mercy. She called the next day and said I had to go to the endodontics office. I saw Dr. Kantor who took many x rays and ran a series of tests to properly assess the issue. He is the best in the business and the gold standard for endodontics in Central Florida. He is honest and trustworthy. He said it was the tooth that was filled by Dr. Mayo and it was drilled down too far and hit the nerve. The x rays back this up clearly. I had to have an immediate root canal on that tooth as the pain in my ear was unbearable and my jaw was hurting too. This is the second time Dr. Mayo has drilled one of my teeth down too far causing a root canal/crown and a lot of pain! Terrible. I called the dentist's office and was told to email him. I did and no compassion or concern there at all. He was told many times by his hygienist that this tooth had evidence of decay. He dismissed her and the cavity should have never gotten this big. I asked for this to be paid by the dentist as he caused me a great deal of pain. I have no insurance and out of pocket I have had to pay 2,850 for his work. He continues to blame me and refuses to accept responsibility for his work. I want my money back as it is not my fault. I did not drill nor fill my own cavity. If you want a dentist with compassion, kindness, empathy, and someone who takes responsibility for his work look elsewhere. You will not find it here! I am extremely disappointed in how unfair I was treated and dismissed by Dr. Mayo. Where's his loyalty to his long term patients??

Dr. Mayo is the perfect dentist for anyone who is nervous about going to the dentist as I used to be. He is unfailingly kind and patient and is terrific at his craft. He is very caring and called me the day after he installed a temporary crown to see how I was. Before I found Dr. Mayo 18 years ago I hated and feared going to the dentist.

It says a lot about someone when all who comment say the same thing. I too have been a patient for more than thirty years. I keep coming back because he is a perfectionist.He is painless; in all these years I have not felt pain. Everyone in the office is friendly and good natured.

I have been going to Dr Mayo for almost 8 years and he and his staff are the best. Karen is my hygienist and she is wonderful. Everyone very nice, professional and great at what they do.
