Dr. Joshua Foxson was inspired to pursue oral surgery after seeing the benefits that dentistry brings to others. He was intrigued about surgical procedures during dental school and knew that positively impacting patients lives through oral surgery was his calling. Dr. Foxson was exposed to the oral surgery field when he was volunteering in third-world countries, which furthered his passion for helping others. When he established Naperville Oral Surgery & Dental Implants, he wanted to provide the latest and greatest in a comfortable, family-friendly setting.

To Dr. Foxson, the most rewarding thing about being an oral surgeon is seeing patients after treatment with smiles on their faces. He takes the time to listen to each patient and explains the process thoroughly so that patients know exactly what to expect.

Dr. Foxson earned bachelors and masters degrees in biology from Hobart & William Smith Colleges. He attended dental school at NYU College of Dentistry and served on various committees, was involved in research, and was elected into the OKU dental honor society. Following dental school, Dr. Foxson completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia as chief resident. During this time, he gained hands-on experience with anesthesia, general surgery, plastic surgery, trauma surgery, medicine, and emergency medicine.

If you're anything like me, you're reading through these reviews trying to decide on an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth removal. I am so glad I trusted these reviews and chose NOS and Dr. Foxson. I needed all 4 wisdom teeth out and was very nervous about this procedure, putting it off for several years. Dr. Foxson and his team allowed me to ask any questions I had and left me feeling reassured I was in good hands. The surgery went smoothly and quickly and by following their detailed post-op instructions, I had no unexpected complications or pain. Dr. Foxson even called me the evening of my surgery to check in and make sure I was doing well. It has been almost 2 weeks since the procedure and I am feeling great. I 100% recommend NOS and can't thank them enough for my positive experience!

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed at the end of September and am very happy with the experience. The consultation was simple and straightforward. The pre and post op instructions were also very clear. The surgery itself was quick (in and out in about an hour total) and I have had 0 complications following the instructions fully. The post op appointment was also very punctual and quick which was much appreciated!

Not only is Dr. Foxson an exceptional oral surgeon but his office staff is second to none. I have had terrible customer service from my insurance provider that I've had to escalate and this entire time, Amy in billing at Naperville Oral surgery has been patient and tremendous. She's put up with insurance run around and my frustration and has remained a calming force. If you're looking for excellent medical care as well as outstanding service, look no further than Dr. Foxson and Amy at Naperville Oral Care. I wish that I could give them both many more than 5 stars.

Dr. Foxson was great! I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed under general anesthesia and didn't feel a thing. Before going to the office, I was nervous about potential permanent nerve damage getting my wisdom teeth removed, as I had put off this operation for many years. Dr. Foxson clearly answered all my questions during my consultation. I am very happy I decided to listen to his advice and removal them all at once. He and his nursing staff made everything very easy for me. However, the front office admins seemed to be very busy and somewhat unwelcoming upon check ins, almost like they didn't want me there. Everyone in the back were rockstars though! 5/5 would recommend.

Naperville Oral Surgery is all about getting the most money from their patients. The staff are salespeople, not healthcare workers. Dr. Foxson advised I could have a tooth extracted using either local anesthesia or sedation. He had me discuss my options with a woman who works for him. I chose the sedation, only to discover in the estimate that the sedation was $803 dollars, which included a "Therapeutic Drug Injection" of $255 that Metlife wouldn't pay anything towards. I looked it up & it is for patients who have anxiety about dental procedures. His office knows I had an extraction previously without sedation, so they know I do not have anxiety. The extraction was only $400.80, half the cost of the sedation! I called the next day to switch to a local anesthetic & the office woman told me I couldn't change it! When I asked why, less than 24 hours later, I did not have that option, she lied & said she spoke to Dr. Foxson! She transferred me to the office manager, when I demanded to know what changed, as I can spend $803 on something I really need. The office manager was very rude, stating, "First of all, the Doctor is in surgery in the mornings." rather than advising me why I could no longer have the local surgery. She told me that would cost $545 & that my 10.15 appointment would have to be rescheduled to November, at the earliest! For $1,203.80, I could have any date I wanted, but for $545, I have to wait at least six weeks! She finally responded to why I no longer had a choice of local by saying in my file, Dr. Foxson had written he strongly suggested sedation. When I called her out on being lied to, she told me I was welcome to see another doctor, which is exactly what I am going to do.

If you go to NOS to get wisdom teeth removal, it's a breeze. Quick recovery with minimal pain. If you want it done right, go to NOS.

Bad experience from beginning til end. From walking into the building for the first time, staff was very unfriendly (almost rude) and annoyed that I had questions. The doctor also appeared annoyed that I had questions (before putting my daughter under anesthesia). If things had been explained to me in full from the beginning I would have been fine but it was like pulling teeth (no pun intended ) to get details on the finances and complete procedure. I had to pay in full at the front desk before even being able to talk to the doctor to get my questions answered! Now 2 months later, I get another bill from them! Even though I paid in full. I am sure he is a great doctor but definitely would not recommend this office or return.

I had stents placed in my heart 6 years ago and as a result I am on a blood thinner. I am getting ready for dentures and over the past 3 years I have had 8 teeth pulled by the same dentist on three different occasions. Not one of these three "surgeries" resulted in any "bleeding problem". Not one...not even a little bit. Today, a young woman, new to my dentist's office, refused to pull a tooth of mine that had an exposed nerve and was very, very painful, unless I got a "Medical Clearance" from my cardiologist. I didn't know what this was, but later learned that it was a letter stating that my cardiologist would order me to stop taking the blood thinners for 5 days before the extraction. This was absurd. This medicinal stoppage could cause clotting that would interfere with my stents and put me at greater risk for a heart attack. I was astonished by this requirement, more so when my Dentist's office referred me to a Dr. Joshua Foxson, an oral surgeon in Naperville Illinois for a next day consultation. From his office staff, I learned that Dr. Foxson's sole purpose in this "consult" was to make a phone call and get the "Medical Clearance" letter from my cardiologist...at a dental "visit" cost of $200, which is a third of my BCBS dental insurance benefit for the year. My first call to Dr. Foxson's office was to find out if he would indeed extract a tooth from someone who was on blood thinners as I had no intention of going off of them. Sadly, I could not get a straight answer out of anybody in that office. They were very rude to me and sidestepped every question I had. After taking a break from this runaround, I again called Dr. Foxson's office and asked to speak to one of his nurses or his office manager to see if I could call my cardiologist in order to have him send this "Medical Clearance" letter directly to Dr. Foxson saying that I could have the extraction while still taking the blood thinner. I wanted to do this because if for some reason my cardiologist wanted me to stop the blood thinner, I would not go ahead with the extraction. My thought here was that I was less likely to die from a quarter inch temporary hole in my mouth than taking a chance on clogging up the stents and perhaps having a massive heart attack. I eventually did get thru to a woman in Dr. Foxson's office on 10/3/22 at 3:48 p.m. We spent 17 minutes on the phone before she hung up on me. I cannot tell you who she was because she refused to identify herself and would not answer this question: Would Dr. Foxson remove the tooth if my cardiologist said it was safe to do so even though I was still taking the blood thinner? I did not know what my cardiologist's position was on this matter because no other doctor had ever requested this "Medical Clearance" letter. What I did know was that I would not risk my life by going off the blood thinners simply to extract a tooth. A simple question...but one that if answered honestly over the phone, could have cost Dr. Foxson a $200 office fee. I had a right to know what Dr. Foxson's policy was on extracting teeth while a patient was on blood thinners before I came in to see him. I didn't deserve to be treated the way I was and if I was treated this way by his staff, I am sure that others have endured the same type of ordeal.
