Dr. Hala Imam is originally from Texas and completed her bachelors at The University of Texas at Austin, her Masters in Public Health from Yale University, and her Dental degree at our very own VCU. She lives in the Vienna area with her husband and two children and enjoys running, reading and traveling.
Dr. Imam loves to give back to her community, whether it is through bagging meals for the homeless with her husband and children or crafting healthy and beautiful smiles at the Free Dental Clinic in Merrifield.

Such a positive experience! I recently moved here and had to have some serious dental work done and Nala Smiles has been amazing. Dr. Imam is out of this world fantastic! I'm a little squeamish and she was so considerate and made everything painless! The front desk staff and techs are also amazing and everyone makes you feel welcome. I definitely recommend this office. Being new to the area, I feel lucky to have found them.

Didn't really want to give any stars, but the receptionist was nice. The hygienist refused to do my annual cleaning because I told her I didn't want to do a deep cleaning at that time. That was a service that I had to pay out of pocket for and unfortunately I don't have the funds to do it right now so she flat out refused to do my routine cleaning that insurance would pay for. I felt really mistreated after leaving that office. I was in tears.

This is a wonderful dental practice! In the midst of a dental emergency while on vacation, they were able to work me in that same day! Wow! They were so kind as well as professional. I highly recommend this practice. Dr Ashley Nguyen and all the staff were just outstanding!

I had a wonderful 1st time experience at Nala smiles - I was referred to come here through my boyfriend and it was a great decision! The previous dental practice I went to just didn't make me feel welcomed like Nala smiles did so I immediately left once I found them. Everyone here was very polite and super helpful - Dr.Imam was very patient with me to answer any questions I had and thoroughly explained everything to me; something my previous dentist didn't want to do. The receptionist Geraldine was also very patient and kind helping me out during check out and I really appreciate her. So happy to have found Nala smiles! They're very professional and very welcoming.

We've had exceptional care from both Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Imam, as well as the hygienists (particularly Katie) at this practice. My family trusts NaLa Smiles with our routine dental care, as well as enjoying the collaborative approach when addressing longer term dental goals, such as retention of previous orthodontic progress with not-always-so-compliant teens and 20-somethings, to preventative procedures for those of us (ahem) over 50, who would like to keep our teeth throughout our elder years. Highly recommend!

This Office is amazing! I woke up with a tooth ache on the Thursday before Labor Day and they got me in the same day to make sure I wasn't in pain over the long weekend. Also, prior to arrival, I hit a curb and was sitting on two flat tires near the Office. The staff was completely comforting and took me in right away to get me out quickly so I could meet AAA. I can't even begin to say how much they went above and beyond for me on a really bad day.

Lovely staff, very professional, careful, attentive and always in good spirits. Everyone goes above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I haven't had a single bad experience at NaLa (knock on wood!). I've been with them for nearly a decade now and have gotten most of my relatives here to switch to them as well.
