You can tell that Dr Nakamura really cares about children. He treated us with such patience, respect and kindness. My son needed urgent work done on a cavity that was hurting him and Dr Nakamura went above and beyond to get us in and make us comfortable despite the difficulty procedure. I highly recommend him for your keiki!

The best pediatric dentist anyone can find! Not only has superior medical knowledge but also very caring and really gets to know your child individually. I highly recommend Dr. Nakamura.

I was really lucky I found Dr. Chris Nakamura. He was my son Leo's first dentist at Oahu Pediatric Dentistry. Leo had some dental problems that started from a very young age and Dr. Chris was very thorough and patient. Being only 2 at the time, Leo did not make it easy but Dr. Chris was caring and consistent each time. When the whole covid thing started all of our appointments at Oahu Pediatric were delayed due to closures and me just not wanting to expose my kids to anything they didn't need to be. When I later called to schedule an appointment I found out Dr. Chris was no longer with them. I quickly hunted him down, thank you google lol and discovered he had opened his own practice--which Oahu Pediatric couldn't really tell me about and I didn't blame them. I was just relieved that I had found him! I didn't want to go through the whole process of finding a new dentist and trying to explain Leo's dental history. His new office is smaller and more personal. Oahu Pediatric was great but my kids just wanted to play with the toys there and were not trying to go into their appointment--I like that there's not too much going on and we aren't surrounded by all kinds of people. It's probably covid safety measures, but I prefer the smaller space with 1 appointment/ family at a time. I was able to bring my 4 yo and 2 yo in at the same time and they were seen back to back. They have really taken to Dr. Chris and instead of dreading the dentist they look forward to it, which was a nice surprise for me. With our appointment today Dr. Chris made sure to communicate effectively with me every step of the way. As a mother any kind of difficult situation, like a troubling dental appointment or a worrisome doctor appointment can easily turn into an experience riddled with anxiety. But Dr. Chris has a way of easing any fears or concerns by calmly laying out all of our options, explaining everything in layman's terms and deciding together what our best course of action would be. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a dentist for your child(ren). Dr. Chris and his staff are friendly, down to earth and very good at their jobs. They also take all the necessary covid precautions, like ensuring masks are worn, taking temperatures before entrance, covid questions during appointment reminder, etc.
