Ive also helped many of my patients overcome their fear of dental work, and I look at it as a fulfilling challenge to convert a person who is afraid into someone who enjoys coming to see me for routine care.
I grew up in a family of physicians, so helping people is part of who I am. As an undergraduate, I made the decision to become a dentist during a mission trip to help disadvantaged communities in Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
After completing my undergraduate degree at University of Florida, I completed my dental training at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. I then focused on helping medically compromised patients, and providing advanced restorative dentistry during my post-graduate residency at Nova Southeastern University.
Dentistry is a quickly evolving science, so I am dedicated to the pursuit of continuing education throughout the year to keep up with the latest practices and technology. Im a member of the American, Florida, and West Coast Dental Associations, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Manatee Dental Society, the International Dental Implant Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Frank Spear Study Club.
Dr. Nikola Skakavac immigrated to the United States from Bosnia and Hercegovina. He attended the University of South Florida where he obtained both his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Master of Science in Medical Sciences. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Florida where he was recognized and awarded for his professional and clinical excellence.
Since leaving school, he has taken a range of continuing education courses, studying advanced prosthodontics, Invisalign, and oral surgery. He has completed the entire curriculum of Implant Pathway, an implantology continuum that focuses entirely on the surgical placement of dental implants. By taking continuing education courses, Dr. Skakavac believes that he will be able to provide the best care to his patients by staying up to date on current procedures and advancements.
Dr. Skakavac enjoys all aspects of dentistry and looks forward to serving the dental needs of the Brandenton community. He emphasizes patient comfort and education in his everyday practices and is dedicated to providing individualized care to each of his patients. Outside of dentistry, he loves traveling and exploring different places and cultures, hiking national parks, weightlifting, and spending time with his family and friends (dog Teddy included).

Dr.Naidu and the entire staff does what's necessary to make the dental experience as pleasant as possible. Routine cleanings, x-rays and more advanced work is totally professional. Appointments are right on time too. Clearly the best dentistry available.

Dr. Naidu is the best dentist I've seen. I've had extensive dental work and Dr. Naidu and his team have always been very caring throughout my process. Dr. Naidu and team have also gone out of their way on multiple occasions to work directly with my periodontist. I'm confident I would not have completed with the extensive work I needed without the good work of Dr. Naidu and his team. I have moved and I still drive over an hour twice a year to see Dr. Naidu!

The staff and Dr Naidu are great. Dr Naidu immediately took care of my immediate problem and gave me the info I needed regarding more sustaining treatment. By way of this review, I am letting the doctor know that I plan to get the more sustaining treatment after surgery for an SCC in my left cheek.

I can not rave enough about this dental office. I have been a patient since I moved to Florida (7 years) I am always met with a smile...The wait time is never long and the work I have had done is great. I am totally satisfied with this dentist and love the staff. In all my years having dental work, I have NEVER been so satisfied!! I will be their patient forever!!

I had many issues with waking up in the morning with headaches and jaw pain. Dr. Naidu was able to adjust my bite and make a grinding device for me that has made a huge difference.Thank you... thank you!! Also the staff are friendly and the office is clean and accomodating!

Where do I start... Naidu was extremely unprofessional from the moment I walked in. The staff waited forever before they could see me when there was a completely empty office. By the time I actually was able to get checked on I couldn't help but notice that the equipment that they're using just didn't look that sanitary. Overall, I regret coming here like fr. They charged me for my X-Rays when I was under the assumption my insurance could cover it. I wouldn't spend my money here.

I visited Dr. Naidu for an inflamed gum. I was very pleased with the reception I got. The staff was very friendly and courteous and Dr. Naidu was very patient and thorough in his examination, taking his time to explain the problem and to answer my questions. His treatment was very successful and I have not had a problem since. I highly recommend Dr. Naidu.
