Dr. Hsieh was born in Taipei, Taiwan and immigrated with his family to the United States when he was only two months old! As the youngest child of a pastor, Dr. Hsieh was instilled with a passion to serve others since he was young boy. Since high school, he has been on missionary trips to aid the underserved in Mexico, Honduras and underserved areas of California. He grew up in the heart of Silicon Valley, San Jose, attending one of the most recognized and competitive school systems in the nation. The rigorous curriculum and his perseverance guided him towards Californias top public schools, completing his Bachelors of Science in Nutrition at UC Berkeley then going onto the renowned University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. The synergy between Dr. Hsiehs creative and artistic abilities and, his curiosity for science, and his passion to serve others solidified his dream of becoming an orthodontist. At UCLA, Dr. Hsieh assumed many leadership roles among his peers, starting his own student organization as well as being selected to be in the Deans Leadership Institute. After dental school, in pursuit of further developing his skills and continuing education in the field of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, Dr. Hsieh went on to attend Roseman University of Health Sciences where he earned his Orthodontic Certificate and Masters in Business Administration.
Dr. Hsiehs diverse background, wealth of knowledge, and passion to serve others over the years has won the hearts of patients of all ages at his practice. He is now in Houston, Dr. Hsieh is ready to share his skills, knowledge, and compassion with those in the Houston community. Dr. Hsieh believes in lifelong learning and continues to refine his skills and knowledge through attending conferences, taking continuing education classes, and being of innovative technology to assure the absolute best for his patients.He really values the quality one-on-one time with his patients to ease any apprehension in the orthodontic treatment process, and reviewing treatment step by step ensure so that patients can feel as comfortable as possible and make sure they understand what is happening with their treatment.
Dr. Luong has called Houston her home since the age of six. Her hard working ethics and dedication to excellence culminated in her graduation from the University of Texas in Austin in 2008 as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with Honors. After her undergraduate, Dr. Luong returned to Houston to attend the University of Texas School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and graduated as an inductee of the Pierre Fauchard Academy for her outstanding academic achievements. In dental school, Dr. Luongs dedication to technology and research and advancing the field of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics led her be the recipient of many scholarships and awards like Edgar H. Boelsche Scholarship, Donald Charles Kroeger Research Scholarship, and Quintessence Award for Research Achievement. Dr. Luong is also a two time consecutive 1st place winner at the Star of the South Annual Research Meeting. Aside from a commitment to research, Dr. Luongs commitment to serving her peers was evident in her role as President of the Asian American Student Dental Association and President of the Student Research Group.
Driven by a strong passion for orthodontics, Dr. Luong completed three years of orthodontic residency, earning her Orthodontic Certificate and a Masters of Business in Administration at Roseman University of Health Sciences. With the highest commitment to excellence as her priority, Dr. Luong took the extra initiative to voluntarily complete hundreds of more hours of preparation and underwent additional examination to become a board-certified orthodontist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, all to demonstrate her ability to offer the highest level of care to her patients. Since graduating, Dr. Luong believes in lifelong learning and continues to refine her skills and knowledge through attending conferences, taking continuing education classes, and being alert at the forefront of innovative technology to assure the absolute best for her patients.

We discovered My Star Orthodontics because my youngest needed phase 1 braces. Our regular dentist scheduled an appt with an Orthodontist that he has come in once per month but at the day of Appt we found out she also needs an extender. We researched many Orthodontist in the area and ultimately decided to call My Star. My daughter was super nervous and didn't even want to go anymore. We went anyways and this team is hands down the best ever!!! They specialize in their field and know what's needed and what isn't. I fully trust them with our plan of treatment. They are super friendly and thorough! I can not say enough great things about them and am super happy to have them as our team for this journey!

I am so happy with Dr. Luong and the entire staff at My Star! They are so welcoming and really make you feel like family in the office. They are so quick to respond and are accommodating with scheduling. It's clear that Dr. Luong and Dr. Hsieh are very knowledgeable in orthodontics and will make sure they explain everything so you have a better understanding of what is going on during your treatment. I am so happy with my experience and can't recommend them enough!!
