The aspect of dentistry I find most important is preventative care. My goal is for patients to be cavity free for life. I believe in patient-centered care. I want my patients and parents to be happy with the dental work I provide.
My favorite books are The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime and Enders Game, and my favorite sports teams are USC football, the San Francisco 49ers, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings.

Suspense movies are my favorite! Going to escape rooms, just so we can find our way out, is a hobby of ours. I follow most European soccer leagues and European Champions leagues! My favorite vacation spot is Iceland.
I grew up with a passion for dentistry because my father was a dentist. I have been practicing since 2011. After school in Texas, I came back to California. My wife and I enjoy traveling, diving, playing tennis, soccer, and eating at restaurants around San Diego.

My son started orthodontic treatment with Dr. Kim. The staff was amazing! He also did see Dr. Tu for his checked up. And the assistant did an amazing job with the X-rays and explaining everything to him. Thank you so much to the staff they were very welcoming. Best office ever!!

I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Tu and his staff! Judith and Ashley at the front are amazing and we're so great with our 3 kiddos (ages 3-twins and 4). His hygienists are excellent and we're beyond patient with the kids. The last time we had a visit here the kids screamed the whole time simply because it was a new experience for them. Dr Tu gave us some suggestions for our next visit and this time around we couldn't get them to leave! Not one tear was shed and we owe it all to Dr. Tu and every one of his staff. Dr Tu himself is all about treatments that are best for the littles and isn't in it for the money. I cannot recommend this office enough!

Best Dentist ever he very compassionate and understanding of my concerns and questions. The front office team was helpful and accommodated my schedule when my son was in pain. I'm very happy to have found this dental office definitely the best !

I absolutely recommend this dentist! I was nervous to take my 3 year old to the dentist, especially because he has special needs but they were sensitive to my son's needs and I could not be happier. The dental hygenist was friendly and made it fun for my son's first visit to the dentist. Dr. Tu was personable, knowledgable and clearly has a passion for his job. He asked questions, listened, shared his personal experiences with his children, was understanding, and gave me so much valuable information. Couldn't give more praise!

Brought my 2 daughters today (3yo & 7yo) and they had such a great experience! The team is so nice, friendly and patient. They didn't try to market any products or treatments. We totally recommend them!

This front office is such a joke! I have never seen such incompetence in my life! I literally had to give them my insurance information 3 times, including filling out all of my children's insurance and background information on their online portal! And guess what? They still couldn't find it! The office manager John, had a bad attitude overall. And when I called them out, he refused to take responsibility for the staff not doing their job again, and inform me that they supposedly needed an actual piece of PAPER for their visit today, (prior to me showing up), from my children's "assigned" dentist. (Even though United Healthcare verified 3 times they had a referral on file and would pay them.) I have a "special needs" child and the way the office manager John flinched at him when he got close and gave a dirty look was terrible! I practically had to fight them to keep their appointment today. They initially canceled their first appointment due to the fact that Judith, nor anyone else behind the desk, ever verified their insurance to begin with. At the 2 medical offices I have worked at, it was a requirement to verify insurance prior to a patient's appointment to ensure their provider(s) will get paid and to let a patient know if anything else was needed PRIOR to their appointment. It's unfortunate because Dr. Tu and his dental assistant were really good with both of my kids. It's a shame he has a staff like this! We won't be returning.

Taking three small children (5yrs, 3yrs, and 19months) to the dentist is no small feat but the professionals at My Kid's Dentist made it as easy as possible, even in these wacky Covid times. You could tell they were pros at working with kids who were anxious. The office manager is extremely professional and helped make us comfortable while we did the shuffle with our monkeys.

Dr. Tu and his staff are absolutely amazing, we have never experienced the quality of care and attention from previous dentist offices. My son has multiple medical conditions that can make his case extra complicated and difficult to treat but he always leaves Dr. Tu's office happy and tears free. Thank you!

Everyone here is phenomenal! I'm not sure of the assistant's name (based on other reviews I'm guessing it was Rosie), but she and Dr. Tu were both amazing. My daughter's appointment was on a Friday afternoon. When I'm at work on a Friday afternoon I'm already thinking about the weekend and exhausted from the week. I'm sure they're the same way but you'd never know it! They bring an energy to every patient that is infectious and their ability to smile the whole way through is incredible. My daughter already likes going to the dentist, but thanks to the staff here she actively looks forward to her next appointments! An additional observation: although my daughter doesn't need braces, if your child does have no fear! Knowing that these appointments are a little uncomfortable, they have a points program! Orthodontic patients get to spin a points wheel and can collect the points to earn prizes! Finally, if it's your first visit with them your child will get a free electric toothbrush. I live in Fallbrook and will make the extra drive to keep My Kid's Dentist as her primary dental care. Well worth it!
