With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

Staff was prompt, friendly and kind. I personally get anxious going to the dentist but my experience with in the past 3 years with MCDC have been wonderful. It's 20 min away from where I live an hour long bus ride one way and don't mind the travel that hiw much I would recommend this place. Dr. Bond has a personable touch with her clients and Yaya has does great work in cleaning and going to any lengths to help with any questions I have. I feel relaxed and trust I'm in good hands every time I've visited. Highly recommend.

My old doctor randomly left to practice I was never told and when I got there they had a girl that look like she was 22 years old trying to work on my teeth I end up with an extreme infection in my mouth and they refuse to treat me or treat the pain in my face even with having constant seizures from the infection in pain would not recommend it used to be good but not how it used to

I had an emergency. I've been in crippling pain and sought their help. I ended up leaving in the same shape I arrived. There was no pain management or compassion. If Tylenol and Motrin were enough then why did I travel over an hour on the city bus for help? Why am I still suffering.? I don't know what to think about dentists these days. It's cruel. There should be more compassion. I should not of left feeling hopeless and suffering..

Worst experience I ever had, my mouth is still in pain and bleeding. I had a lot of teeth pulled, but this was the worst, it took a hour and half. Most of the time it takes less than a minute to pull teeth. To much truma to my head.

This place is really a five-star facility, I've always been treated with the utmost respect and patience, and they have solved almost every single one of my dental issues beautifully. Because of this place, I'm not afraid to smile anymore! They have one of the best dentists I've ever seen, definitely give this place a try you'll be happy you did!

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS COVID POLICIES. BEWARE IF YOU ARE IMMUNE COMPROMISED, ELDERLY, OR OTHERWISE HIGH RISK FOR COVID. I wish I could recommend this clinic highly, since the hygienists and dentists are wonderful. However, they have strict cancellation policies. I was penalized for calling as soon as the clinic opened when I woke up with a fever and tested positive for COVID on a home test. I explained that I could not give earlier notice as I had not had symptoms before that morning, and I asked if they could make an exception since there is an ongoing pandemic. I was told no. Here's the problem: this is one of the only dentists in the area who take medicaid. so if you are on medicaid, and have COVID, you may have no choice but to go in to the clinic in order to receive ongoing dental care. They offer no alternatives or exceptions. It means anyone who enters the building is at risk, since there is no way for people with COVID to stay at home without being penalized for it if they are ill. If you can, seek another dentist whose policies are more in line with keeping patients and clinicians and staff safe.

The staff were very friendly and precessional. They were very fast as well calling me and my son in, we didn't sit in the waiting area for a long time at all. Once we were called in the staff were very attentive and friendly.

From the moment I walked through the door, to when my appointment was over, I felt at home. Every single person was inviting, kind and accommodating. You really got the sense that they cared about your well being and was willing to do whatever it takes to bring a resolve to your situation. I personally have been experiencing tooth pain. I wasn't there for a long time at all. The facility was nice and clean and everything was well organized. Thank you so much MCDC!!!! Now I feel much better about going back!
