With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

Staff is pleasant and knowledgeable of their jobs. Appointments are kept as close to given time as possible. I've never waited more then 5 minutes past my appointed time. I love that. I like the work they have provided me. I will refer them to anyone I know.

I was waiting for a minute after showing up to be seen but I am a patient understanding person so I didn't really mine and the front desk staff was very nice about it so it was acceptable. The front desk staff is very energetic and nice. The doctor and his assistant was very nice as well. The doctor got straight to the point of what needs to happen and that's all I wanted. I would recommend this place.

Terrible experience terrible customer service very rude Ghetto ladies at the front desk. I had my appointment scheduled for half the year they lied and said they left me multiple messages. I show up today I wasn't seen and they called the police on me because they messed up. I came all the way from Novi

I came in as a walk in emergency patient. I had a little wait but they were very busy. The receptionists were very nice. My MA was kind. They are very thorough. I will definitely continue going there.

I went in for an emergency extraction on Wednesday. I was there at 8am and waited 3 hours to be seen despite the waiting room/office not being very busy. The office manager had to take my Xrays and be the dentist's assistant because they were shortstaffed. The dentist said that the tooth is abscessed and agreed to extraction. However, because I take blood thinners they needed written approval from my other DR to stop the blood thinners before proceeding. The dentist prescribed antibiotics but refused to provide any pain medicine (I was already taking some) and would not even provide a script for lidocaine mouthwash or anything to help ease my EXCRUCIATING pain. The office manager and I worked together to get the approval form over to my other DR, and she said when they got it back they would call me to get me in for the extraction. I left. Thursday morning I called my other DR and made sure they faxed the form back to MCDC. They did. I called MCDC and spoke with Dee Dee. She said that they did receive the approval from my other DR but they were extremely busy, and shortstaffed, and that they would call me. It is now Friday at 3pm and I have had to go to another dentist and have already had the tooth extracted painlessly and professionally at the other office. I still haven't gotten a call from MCDC. To me this is PATHETIC. To make someone with an abscessed tooth wait so long for an extraction, and to not even call and schedule an appointment or anything, is just absolutely cruel and really quite lame. The other dentist pulled the tooth in a matter of a minute. Don't tell me you couldn't work me in. You just forgot or worse don't care. I will NEVER go back to this place and I highly suggest if you are considering going here to checkout the dentist that saved me, SUPERTEETH at 9 mile and Van Dyke blows this place away!

I had a crown put in by Dr. Naqvi and he was very pleasant and fun and did a great job! The staff at the front desk is always kind and friendly. And not to mention the prices of dental work here seem to beat most, if not all, other locations.

Omg! I'm currently pregnant, and was suffering the worst tooth pain ever! They were all booked on Friday, but for sure got me in on Monday! They were able to remove my tooth the same day. Very pleasant! Would highly recommend!
