With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

I saw the oral surgeon to get 3 extractions done and he was very kind to me. He went back and numbed me until I couldn't feel anything and then he worked pretty darn fast. My healing is going well and I haven't had any issues. This location is nice and clean, if I had any complaints it might be that they need to keep their rooms supplied a little better because the assistant twice had to get up and find something but that was the only issue I noticed and it didn't affect me in anyway.

I really like the thourough way my fillings were handled. The office workers, dental assistant and dentist were all pleasant people. Though I suspect the dentist thought I was being a huge drama queen. I required several numbing shots and yet still felt icy coldness, some pain, and the teeth separator cutting into my gum. Though, as I drove home all those shots finally kicked in full force, I mean like REALLY kicked in, and the whole left side of my face was numb from behind my ear to above my eyebrow. It was like having playdough for a face for 4 hours. However I was super appreciative that the dentist had done so much to keep my pain levels down. I have never been to a dentist who used anything other than a topical cream when doing a filling and it was never very pleasant. Highly recommend this place.

Have been here almost 2 years--scheduled my 6 month cleaning for the beginning of August and my appt was cancelled very very last minute. When I called to reschedule, they told me they could either get me in on Thurs, 9/15/22 at 4:10 or they're scheduling out to January. I normally prefer appt's on Mondays since that's my day off of work but decided to schedule anyways since I'm due for my cleaning and will be having a baby in January. I showed up today for my appt and the door was locked. Stood outside for over 10 minutes knocking and called about 8 times until they finally picked up just for them to tell me they're closed and can't schedule me until January. Unfortunately this is the only place that accepts my insurance in the area so finding a new dentist is going to be tough. Disappointed though with the service I've received in the last month or so.

Very nice and caring. The Dentist talks with you to work out a treatment plan. The hygienists are very nice and take time to talk with you on what they are doing.

The staff has a wonderful chair side manner. It is obvious they care about the patients and they go out of there way to make sure the patient is doing ok during the visit.

Wonderful staff all the way around! I called without having an appointment they were able to fit me in. The dentist was wonderful and kind.. I feel much better than before I walked in! Thanks to whole staff for getting me taken care of!

I had quite the experience in the dentist chair today. I felt like I was getting sick so I asked to sit up. Those chicks jumped into action fast! They had cold rags on my head, juice down my throat, checked my blood pressure and had the doc come in! They did a fab job taking care of me and my teeth are squeaky clean! Sal Harker.

Was thoroughly professional. State of the art equipment. Nice Dr., Hygeinist, and receptionist. Somewhat arbitrary about the estimated cost, vague, as perhaps politics rule payout for insurance. Was unhappy to learn deductibles are figured per month, and not good for a year.
