With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

Booked out far, sometimes months and months wait for an appointment. Otherwise very helpful. ASAP list avaliable for call back (sometimes) with a sooner appointment. Adequate dental work and cleanings. Have always seen me same day if I wait for an emergency appointment, even if no work can be done on the day of. Overall I would say positive experience. Helpful, caring and knowledgeable staff.

My cleaning was worth the wait and the drive!! Once the initial paperwork was finished, I was received pretty immediately by a friendly & upbeat dental assistant. We chatted like old friends and the service was par for the course. Glad to know that the Dental experience has come a very long way!

This was an amazing dental experience for my son and I. Alicia was phenomenal! She was gentle, kind and patient with both of us! I would highly recommend this office. Great prices for people without dental insurance. Very pleased with our services, thank you!

If I could rate this a zero star, I would! Horrible, horrible experience! After Dr. Morgan left and they got a temp "dentist" (I use quotes because I think they just pulled her from the street - she didn't know anything) it has gone downhill. I went in to get a filling refilled and she started drilling the wrong tooth and the assistant had to tell her that she wasn't doing the right tooth and she didn't even apologize. Just said "oh I looked at the X ray wrong." I now have multiple tooth aches and can't even chew on that side of my mouth without crying. I have had nothing but amazing experiences with Dr. Morgan but nothing about this temp is good. She kept asking the assistant what tools to use and what to do. I will never go back there. Hopefully she gets it together and doesn't mess up someone else's mouth!

Don't believe the reviews. This place is terrible. For "community" dentists they are unprofessional and unhelpful. Instead of speaking to me privately they spoke to me loudly in the waiting room in front of another person. They refused to even take me back for an exam and told me to get previous X-rays from another dentist before they would see me. They made me feel less than and uncomfortable. Before they spoke to me directly they spoke about me loudly to the point where I had to correct them from across the room about my information, again in front of another person in the waiting room. They told me in more words, that they couldn't help me and basically sent me on my way without another appointment. Just because I have Medicaid and dental problems does not make me less of a person. I left crying and without any help. I will pay completely out of pocket before I EVER let another "dentist" speak to me this way. You guys are unkind and I do not recommend anyone come here .

After calling multiple locations for days I finally settled on driving just a few more miles. This location was able to get me in that same day! The wait time was a little annoying, but can be expected I suppose with an emergency visit. Thank you for getting me in on such short notice and pointing me in the right direction!

Great that they work with people on an income basis, this of course means not all services are available, but it's better than nothing! Staff was friendly and professional, Jo was an absolute gem with my child on the spectrum. She let her talk and ask questions to no end. She had such a great time, she forgot she was even nervous!

I'm allergic to penicillin which they prescribed to me even after I filled out their "what are you allergic to?" paperwork. They canceled my appointment without reason. I called to reschedule & nobody picks up the phone. to boost their ranking on google they tell you they're doing a contest & ask you to leave them a 5 star review. Sloppy work at best.
