With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

Very clean and everyone is very friendly...they make you laugh sometimes and very comfortable with them when they work on my teeth.

I was really pleased with the care they gave my kids and the way they gave it. They were polite and friendly and put my children at ease before taking the time to answer my questions. They we're also ready at the appointment time, I appreciated not having to wait. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because when I called for new patient appointments it was more than 6 months before my kids could be seen.

My dentist is very play nice, kind, caring, clean, friendly, understanding. I had my tooth removed and I told my Dentist that I don't like needles so the dentist explain to me what was going to happen before he did it. First time going to the dentist worried I could not find The correct directions there. The only correct directions was on Google maps. I do recommend that Dentist

My experience with My Community Dental Center was a pleasant one. I am not a fan of going to the dentist (it's nothing personal towards the dentist himself, lol) just the Dental work. I have always had problems with anxiety. With that said, my doctor gives me something to help me stay calm. I usually have a driver, but today I didn't. Thankfully I just had a checkup. The dentist is very nice and his voice is very calming, which is a plus for me. Not to mention his wonderful staff

Very pleasant service and they have great communication and treat each patient to accommodate to their needs which is a very important factor in a business. I find no other place that can give you the care you deserve and well respect of caring and taking the time to fit your teeth with compassion so your happy and not act out as just a business.Thank you for having me and grateful to be a patient

They seem nice. I called the 800 number and got an appointment many months out, however I walked in and talked to the local workers at the clinic, and got an appointment a couple days later. I was able to be seen by a dentist, and they are going to put together a care plan for me to get my dental issue addressed.

I always have been well cared for but I don't like it that it's taking so long to get my new denture. The staff is great though and are always friendly and helpful.

It had been years since my last Dental visit. The staff & Dentist were professional, courteous, patient & took the time to listen to my personal needs & issues...as well as making it a comforting experience. The timing & details of my dental plan were clearly explained to me. I look forward to my next visit ;()

I've been terrified of the dentist for years. And so I didn't go. The doctor and kaylee were very friendly and made it a decent experience during my first appointment(which was an emergency) that I came back for more. Everyone else was nice as well. This is the year I get my teeth fixed!! Thank you guys so much.

I called as a new patient with a dental emergency after 3 other places couldn't see me for over a month and they got me in within a week. The office staff was friendly and explained everything. Dr Tom is a great dentist who seems to really care, he was gentle and made it a pain free experience. I can't express enough how great the whole team was and how happy I am to have found this place.

When we first arrived, we were taken care of almost immediately. Everyone from the receptionist to the hygienist we're courteous, friendly and professional. I would highly recommend My Community Dental Center to all my friends and family!
