With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

If I could give negative stars, I would. I went to the dentist with a concern about a spot on my tooth. They took x-rays of my entire mouth and said I should have all of the filling I had done as a kid, removed and replaced. I told them I've never had any issues with those teeth and since I was newly pregnant with high blood pressure, I wasn't interested in having extensive dental work. I was flat out told that if I didn't let them do all my teeth on the right side, they wouldn't bother fixing the tooth I came in for. I reluctantly agreed. Afterwards I had excruciating pain. I called and was told it was normal and to give it time. It continued to get worse. I brought it up again during my next cleaning and was told there is an issue with the new fillings THEY put in, but they didn't have a dentist working there so I would have to drive to Kalkaska or wait for the new dentist. Since I was about to give birth, I decided to wait. They got a new dentist, but now they said they can't see me because now they don't take my insurance anymore.....not sure why my insurance should have to pay for them to fix what they caused. They messed up my mouth so bad that I can not eat or drink without being in extreme pain. Sometimes I will just be sitting and my teeth will start hurting. The kicker is...they ran out of time doing my fillings....they never did fix the tooth I went in for. ***update *** the clinic replied to my review telling me to call the clinic with concerns, however I posted my review AFTER I had already called the clinic and been told I had to go elsewhere to fix the problem they created.

Awesome place staff all very friendly! Callie did a great job cleaning my teeth and explaining everything to me. Dr Hazelton was very nice. Definitely would recommend them to anyone

Wonderful experience here. I came in as an emergency, they got me in the back a lot quicker than I was expecting. They ALL treated me like a person! A real person! No shaming, no judgement, wonderful place. Really easy to find.

Always rescheduling appointments. We're unable to work around my work schedule at all. Wouldn't FIX my teeth. Insisted a tooth was fine and it just needed a filling even though it showed signs of decay and guess what? It broke. Went there for a procedure one time saying my insurance covered it and then expected me to drop over $800 dollars because they made a mistake. There isn't a qualified dentist there, I swear the one that was employed there when I went was still a student.

Something's up with this place. My whole family goes here, three kids, two adults. They constantly reschedule your appointment, just call you with a new appointment, it's wild. They don't like if you tell them no, I want the appointment I made, don't seem to care if you already took that time off work, they just reschedule for you! My kids haven't had their teeth cleaned since October-ish, it's June!! I finally called a new dentist for them. You're teeth should be cleaned more than once a year! In the two years I've been a patient here, I've seen three dentists come and go! This last one actually started a care plan to get my smile back. Said I need a crown and to call when I can afford it, she'll get me right in. So, I call the other day, just to find out she left the office! Got herself a new job! They don't know when they'll have a new dentist, so they're only doing cleanings now. I have to call a different clinic and have them do it. Do you know how long the wait is at the dentist?! Months! By the time I get in there, they might as well pull it out. Who knows what's gonna happen to my other appointments in my "care plan." If you're looking for good dental care, I'd keep looking! Something's wrong with this place.

The hygienist and front desk staff were polite. Because of being short staffed my next cleaning appointment was in November but the office moved me up to August, then July(from the cancellation list). My last cleaning was mid July 2021, but my next one is in six months. The office now needs a dentist.

I saw Callie for my regular cleaning she did a great job, all the staff here at the Roscommon location were very professional and amazing from the front desk my hygienist Callie. Keep up the great work ladies!

The team here is amazing. Truly are and straight forward with you. They actually care about their patients. The do have some long waits for appointments but that's due to the high amount of patients and limited staff. They are positive and funny. Great place honestly!

Mandy and Dr. BECK WERE GREAT! Mandy was very informative. Explained everything she was going to do. Even checked my head thoroughly for skin cancer, and Explained the signs! Yes, this was during my dental exam! You all are great and thank you for being our dental professionals. Fred.

Amazing, friendly staff!! I'm someone who gets very nervous going to see the dentist and they accommodate accordingly. Like today was a filling replacement, ugh I know....anyways, that 1st poke with the scary shot gun thing is the worst. So the assistant started tapping my arm I thought that was the best pain distraction I've ever had cuz it worked! Definitely one of the best offices I've ever been to!!!
