With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

I had an emergency tooth abcess and they got me in that hour and extracted the tooth painlessly and efficiently. I was so impressed with how nice and kind everyone was and very impressed with how everything was done. Thank you so much everyone.. I'm so grateful for everything.

I needed an emergency tooth extraction and they managed to get me in same day everyone was super friendly and the dentist went through everything he was doing while performing the extraction.

Was given an appointment with only 3 weeks to wait. Kept it. The young dentist there treated us with respect and gentility. The entire staff was kind and me us feel comfortable. (Us is my ES dog and me).

We had a dental emergency with our daughter and it was crazy the amount of time the other dental offices wanted us to wait (4-6weeks) to see her. Dr. Alison got her in the same day we called and the tooth extraction/abscess was handled well! I appreciate her patience and kindness with my kiddo

Better than Spalding location for sure... On this day 8/31/22 drove 2 1/2 hours to Marquette location due to severe pain.... Had to wait to be fit in..... 2 hours later, went back nurse took x-ray and doc came in wrote referral!!! Yep that's all..... I give a 2 star because I have other teeth he could've done something ..... Nope 5hours in a car /waitin they should've done something, I feel!!!!!

I always love coming here it's always a very pleasant experience. Everyone is very professional and friendly. Really love the personal care that you get and especially the friendliness. My teeth always feel much better when I leave here

They all were awesome. First they fit me in on an emergency basis. Then they determined my problems and took care of them in between other scheduled patients. They were kind and pleasant through the whole process. I definitely will be staying with them for my future denal needs.

First off, Becky was super pleasant as she registered me as a new patient. This state clinic requires masks, which I didn't know beforehand, but the office had extras. I appreciated how the office requested permission to push my appt back a few hours before the original appt so I wouldn't have to wait extra long in the waiting room. Even though the office was running behind, they were still able diagnose & repair a broken filling the same day because my time in Marquette was extremely limited. Kira & Amy were very professional dental assistants in that their communications were precise & clear. I thought Dr Garret Marchant showed consideration when he nonchalantly told me every step he was taking throughout the tooth repair process. Lastly, the receptionist was accommodating with my extra paperwork requests and questions.

Dentist wasted no time injecting four syringes full of Novocain for teeth extractions. After numbing five teeth were removed in thirty seconds flat with the remaining molar requiring more extensive efforts. No dilly dallying around as it needed to be done. Like removing bandaging after a surgery just give it a rip! Other than the pain killer injections a pleasant experience all in all with teeth extracted and no broken jaw.

Even though I was terrified the staff helped me get through it. They were very kind, caring, and supportive. I don't like the dentist and never have, but I look forward to going back on August 22nd

The worst Dental place in the North.. They completely lied when they said they relined my dentures, I waited a year to get in to see this dentist only to be jerked around They made their money that's all they care about.Now I have to go to a different dentist to fix them again.And because I complained they barred me from coming back.

They were very nice to get me in at the last minute even though it was late in the day. It's very clear the staff is very practiced in what they do. They took care of my issues quickly. All the staff were very positive. Thank you!
