With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

They have awesome staff. Communication was awesome. The Dr LISTENED and paid close attention to my actions if I didnt raise my hand. Oops. Her assistant was awesome also! Looking forward to my other appointments to get that great smile back again!

Dr. Beck is rude. Leaves people sitting for over an hour after she numbs you. Then by the time she comes back in the numbing stuff is starting to wear off. She talks and talks and talks through getting your teeth done. She's messed up on one filling on me and two on my son. Two outta the 3 need to be redone. Ugggg. I can't wait til spring when I have an appointment with the other dentist in the office. It took her almost two hours to take out a tooth. I was begging her to bust it to get it out. I'll never let her work on my teeth again ever.

Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly and courteous employees. Everything was explained in detail of my treatment plan. I'm very satisfied and am happy to have a good dentist and staff.

Very pleased with the staff . The are not pushy about making decisions on your own. They are good about encouraging about different things. They are very helpful and do explain different things that is going on with your dental experience and the nurse. I had a very happy with her. I'm looking forward to my next visit in July even though I kind of wish it was sooner but I understand too. They are very very busy.

After my appointment I raved about this dentist and the other 2 ladies who talked to me and made me feel super comfortable. They took my x-rays and explained everything so we'll. I've only went to one dentist my entire life so I never had anything else to compare to her, but because of how much effort they put into me to do the best job they could do is why I'm never going back to my old dentist. They taught me so much I never knew about enamel and acid reflux. Informed me of what to do. They're extremely professional and filled with useful knowledge that my other dentist should have taught me 15 years ago. Wrote a prescription for a special toothpaste to help target the issue with my teeth. They explained the process of what's going to happen at my following appointments. I couldn't have been happier or more pleased and surprised at how impressed I am because they were so awesome. Not a single complaint. It was worth the 6 month wait. Highly recommend!

It a pretty decent place. However it takes forever to get to talk to someone on the phone. I left messages on multiple days before I got a call back and my son needs one of his tooth fixed and they don't have anything available before June of next year I feel that's not reasonable and unexceptable.

Even though it was a lengthy process for my dentures I absolutely love them. It took me about 8 months to get them. and trust me it was rough for me. But these guys are amazing and the doctors are super cool and chill.

I was worked in for a crown that came off. It was an old crown and an xray told that it wasn't restorable much less to temporarily put back on. The problem is I had to leave as I came with continued pain from the root being exposed. I made an appointment but cannot get back in until May or a cancellation. This business is in my insurance group. It looks like I will have to go out of network to get attention. There is only one dentist at this business as far as I know and far too many cases to treat properly by one person. I have good insurance too:( So out of respect for an obviously hard working doctor I gave a 4 rating. I have never been turned away for an emergency so it took me by surprise. I called at 8am and arrived with the understanding it could be long wait for emergency treatment . Doing my part didn't mean much for results.
