With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

I have only had one appointment as of yet. And all I can say is, this place has given me probably the best dental experience I've ever had! As a new patient, they got me in within 2 days time (after already the schedule was 8 months out). I needed an extraction and a cleaning, the extraction was going to be scheduled in 5 months (wow, I know) The dentist had already told me good bye, she came back in as I was leaving and said " I'm going to take that tooth now". Yes!! Wham bam and here I am! Thank you! Thank you!! Signed, One Happy Camper

Super nice and welcoming staff. Haven't been to the dentist in so long and had terrible anxiety about it but they have been so nice and helpful and willing to help me with my dental issues ive accumulated through out the years. Great place and people

Best dental care I've ever gotten! I got dentures for the first time a couple weeks ago and they match the color of the dentures with the rest of my real teeth perfectly and they fit great too!

I've never experienced a more pleasant, painless dentist appt. I'm scared to death of dentists, usually have bad experience, but this dr was fabulous. Explaining everything along the way. Made me more relaxed. Her assistant was also very good. They definetely worked together as a team very efficiently. My appts are now all being transferred to this facility. Definetely worth my drive. Ty ladies!

My kiddo absolutely loves this place! Yes, it's the dentist Lol They make her very comfortable. The Dr. is amazing. I highly recommend this place!

This place has come so far! Clearly they have amazing management! Great staff that work well together makes for a great atmosphere! Taking time off from work to go get my teeth cleaned or even a filling is something I usually dread, but here it is truly time enjoyed and well spent <3 (the best and pain free filling I have ever experienced/ thank you Dr. W beautiful work!!!)

Had to have an emergency extraction. They fit me in the morning I called, even though they were booked out 4-6 months. The staff and dentist were great and took care of my needs. Will be going back for my future dental needs.

I went there for a cleaning but mainly for other dental needs; I have bad anxiety getting any dental work done, and the hygienist was really good with making it more comfortable getting a cleaning, and numbed my gums before doing anything and talked to me through the whole cleaning, which helped lower the level of anxiety I was feeling. The lady dentist was great explaining what she feels needs to be done with my teeth, and was surprisingly comfortable to be around and understand. I think I found our new dentist! (Signs for required mask wearing are still up, as with all medical facilities that I know of. I wore my handmade one.)

I had no problems. They were all so very nice. They pulled 4 teeth while I listened to (loud) music. The best part....I never felt a thing! Would I recommend this dentist....you betcha!

The staff is always friendly to me. This visit was a bit of an out of the box challenge, but the dentist took it in stride ensuring to explain every step to me and answering any questions I had. Always kind and professional

I walked in prepared to pay out of pocket. Thanks to my chatty hygienist, I found out that I did indeed have insurance to cover the costs!!
