With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

My 5 year old got referred there called due to an emergency, waited for a couple hours to squeeze her in to get seen just to be told they won't help her due to her age.

My whole family has went to MCDC in Hillsdale this week. They were super gentle with me, I have bad dental anxiety and horrible pain from impacted wisdom teeth, they were understanding and kind throughout the whole process. My kiddos went in today and they were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with them. It was such a pleasant experience with the ladies at MCDC!!! Keep up the great work

Before Covid I went here before they closed down for a few years, I personally didn't have a good experience in 2018-2019. I needed to go back now however because mcdc is one of the only places that take my insurance. I'm so glad i went back. All new staff and an amazing experience, my dental assistant was absolutely wonderful, so kind and reassuring. I'm a scaredy-cat when it comes to dental work, but I have to say I am glad I decided to come back for a second chance. I really enjoyed going today, well, as much as you can enjoy going to the dentist. Thank you mcdc for the wonderful care today!

Dr. Moore and Missy were amazing! I have awful dental anxiety and a had a bad tooth that desperately needed pulled. Was told at a different place it wasn't going to to be able to be pulled and I would have to go to U of M. Between Missy and Dr. Moore they eased my anxiety and got my tooth out!

The dentist was nice but they didn't do anything for me but give me referrals to have toot canals. Gave me Tylenol for pain but I am already and Naprosyn. I feel like they did nothing for me.

I was treated very nicely the people there are absolutely wonderful I did not have a problem with anyone no attitudes nothing just kindness smiles and it was really comfortable my tech was wonderful she was very gentle a pleasant experience I would recommend this place five stars which I did thank you to my dental clinic you guys are great

Was great, the only place I could find to make any effort to work with me to take care of a broken tooth. Got me right in and pull the tooth and I was on my way.

I have been coming to this office for a few years now. They have been beyond amazing with me and my children. I have missed appointments, they called to remind me and I rescheduled. I have had bad experiences in the past, but here they have been great!

Was told my appt was at 11am w time to get an exam one filling done and x rays. I waited in my vehicle for 1 hour. Was in there for 5 mins after my 5 min x ray and told they would make me an appointment. I asked about a filling and she laughed and said we are well into our lunch. No time for me. Next appteny 2.5 weeks out and now will interrupt my job.

Thanks for taking care of my teeth and watching out for my health. BUT !!! I AM SO UPSET I received a notification on Monday to confirm my appointment and I show up this morning to find out you are closed Why was there no notification sent a text or a phone call? Just rude and disrespectful

Can't answer phones or even call back simple yes or no questions they can not answer they just give you the run around avoid at all costs
