With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

Omg, this dentist's office is incredible. I called before noon and was able to get an appointment the very next morning at 8 am. Dr. Galvin relieved me from the pain I had been in for over a month. And was able to explain my options. My dental assistant was very professional and did her job very well. I'm so glad that Ms. McCarthy was able to give me their contact information. This is who I will be going to from here on out. Thank you all very much for everything.

As everyone may know, first impressions are key! After speaking with the person on the phone to become a patient, I knew it was going to be a great place. I had called to get in for an emergency visit and not only was that person very nice and caring, she also got me in the same day. Definitely a better experience than I have ever had. They are really great and the office was clean and tidy! All of the staff were awesome! Such a relief.

They are very patient with my anxiety. I struggle with going to the dentist and they were very understanding and make sure, as much as possible, if I'm doing okay. Also very quick!!! I would usually need laughing gas to stay calm but they have done perfect at keeping me calm without it. Thank you.

My doctor was really good...only had an issue with one tooth.....but he finally got it....he made absolutely certain I was completely numbed and couldn't feel a thing before he proceeded....he took nine teeth at once...not gonna lie...it really hurts right now....but he did a great job considering the condition of my teeth and mouth

I have been going here for about a year now. I needed to find a new dentist office who accepted my insurance in the area & I had a friend recommend MCDC in Grand Haven. I am so glad I made an appointment here. From a simple cleaning to fillings, I had an awesome experience all around & I don't love dental work. I highly recommend Dr. Galvin & his team.

I normally see Dr. Galvin who is super cool but today I had to see Dr. Geerlings for an emergency visit and loved him too! Both Drs are so kind! My husband has decided to switch from his dentist to these guys. Definitely a very caring office. Highly recommend!
