With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

After previous bad experiences with two other dental offices, I was so thankful and excited about the experience I had today at my community dental center. First of all, they fit me in,after another person had canceled. Otherwise, I would be waiting until January. And I'm a new patient. All staff members were pleasant and professional. The cleanliness was the best I've seen. They were more knowledgeable than I had received previously and also addressed important dental issues that had not been discussed with me before. Although they are just getting started on fixing my smile, I truly left with the biggest smile I've had in a long time!

Dr. Pringle and the staff are great. Had a couple cavities filled today, and it was one of the most painless experiences I've had with a dentist. Love going here. Only downside is they get a lot of people calling for appointments, and they schedule several months out. However, they do also get a lot of cancelations, and will call you if you want to be seen sooner and something opens up.

Do not go here please the Mai dentist guy is a clown fed my teeth all up all I need was fillings and now I can't eat anything cold or hot without practically coming to tears

I'm glad that I was able to be seen, but it should really be illegal to take someone's whole mouthful of teeth and not give them something other than tylenol. Getting 28 teeth yanked out of your mouth HURTS. A LOT.

The staff, all friendly with smiles, unless you catch them in the morning,lol. The doc's was all Star. Both him and her, from the start to finish. I'll be finishing on the 7th. Downfall no pain relief medicine, the good kind for extractions, no matter how many teeth. No pain, no gain.

I can't thank this office and staff and the manager enough for what they did for my daughter this morning. They all went above and beyond to be kind and make sure my daughter was comfortable and well taken care of. Being a parent of a non verbal child who also has cerebral palsy your office was very caring and did a great job with X-rays and treatment. We can't say Thank You enough to your whole office staff

My first time at the office , I was treated like I was an established Patient, everyone was so polite, very kind, you can tell the employees are very happy, that they like their job , so friendly and positive atmosphere, Amanda was my hygienist, she went above and beyond, made my experience so nice ,I do not do well with X-rays she explained everything she was going to do before she did it , made me very comfortable, and relaxed. I told a friend about the office, as soon as he gets insurance he is going to make an appointment

Having some serious issues with my teeth. Needed what I felt is emergency care and was able to get in quickly to be taken care of. Staff is amazing all of the way around. Great effort was taken to make sure I was very comfortable during this visit. I have a long road ahead of me for the work I need done but this far this is the place to go. I do have insurance but even besides that their prices are crazy affordable. I'm in good hands and feel much better about my next appointment.

You walk in place is clean, everyone there treated you like you were one of the family. They were concerned with your discomfort and pain and addressed it with care. Wish I would have found this place along time ago. April, she was so nice and explained everything and spoke to you like you were someone and not just an everyday person . Thank You So Much.

I went in as an emergency visit and got all the help I needed, I believe her name was lacy she was so nice to me I went in hurting crying no sleep after being at the hospital in er for hours and because of her and the rest of the staff I left semi smiling (due to fill in) but feeling SOOO much better!!

I love the dentist nurses hygienist they are all awesome. I'ma person who hates the dentist. I have literally waited until I'm in pain to do anything on my teeth. But she is a caring dentist from Texas and techniques to reduce anxiety and pain are awesome. I've had 13 dentist and she is by far the best. She is the only dentist not to make me cry when doing my front teeth filling.

I wouldn't go here even if my life depended on it. I was in the hospital and very sick and cause I missed my appointment they sent me a letter saying that they are discontinuing our professional dental care with me because I was too sick in the hospital with pneumonia on oxygen could barely breathe to call them and cancel my appointment. So if your looking for a shady and unprofessional dentist office they are just right for you but in my professional opinion I'd look for a better dental practitioner than my community dental centers....

Very friendly staff. Not impressed with the work. I had a cleaning that was great. Had 3 fillings done and they are messed up. They drilled into my teeth very far and said they "were not very deep cavitys" I returned 2.5 weeks later after calling several times and not getting through to anyone. My teeth are extremely sensitive now. They said the allignment was messed up.... so they filed them down because they were sitting to high. No xrays were taken and it felt very rushed. Didn't make any differance. Now im worried I need a root canal and have serious damage to my teeth. I should not have to return 3 times to have a simple filling looked at. I will not be returning.
