With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

Fantastic experience at the Charlotte, MI location. Came in for emergency treatment for a cracked molar, staff could not be better. Fastest X-rays this side of the Mississippi by Chrystal, and great customer service by Kitty. Thank you.

I started with the dental center because several friends recommended. But my experience to date is less than desirable. In fact, today made me quite angry. With no communication with me, my appointment did not include the cleaning I understood but a very condescending discussion with doctor who told me he's leaving, that they changed the purpose, that he goggled pictures , told me the office still has not contacted my insurance for authorization (despite my already asking insurance) ,then used redundant language and speculated that no treatment would begin until March. What????? He kept saying "the girls in front " needed to give him information. Why has insurance not been contacted?? Why am I receiving no real treatment?

Absolutely love this place they are friendly outgoing. They explained everything in detail. The staff are wonderful. positive vibes when you walk in! They are going to fix my mouth and give me back my smile super excited in 4 months. The doctor will explain every question that you have. I could've been more satisfied with this Dentist . Their x-ray process was wonderful. They're very thorough. I definitely recommend my family my friends to go here.

The staff is absolutely amazing! There were no availability and Brittany, the office manager got me in on a cancellation. The hygienist, Crystal made going to the dentist pleasant. It was uncomfortable but she distract me with her kindness and humor. She was honest and caring about my treatment. Thank you.

I've taken my daughter to the Big Rapids location many times and we've always had a great visit, My Community Dental Center in Charlotte was the exact same experience. My daughter had just lost her first tooth and actually began asking to go to the dentist. That alone should speak volumes about My Community Dental Centers. They got us in the next day, the place looked clean and inviting. The staff from start to finish all seem to enjoy their work and the atmosphere is refreshing. Highly, highly recommend

Even though there was some miscommunication with the front desk and myself over a year ago they took me back as a patient and have a treatment plan in place so I can have a pretty smile for my wedding in october! Crystal the hygienist is absolutely amazing! And so is The actual dentist. I love this place!!
