With the support of our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, we are working together as diverse network of partners and and advocates to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.
Steve joined the board in 2016. He is currently the Health Officer for the Central Michigan District Health Department. Previous to this, he served as the Interim Health Officer and Environmental Health Director for the Jackson County District Health Department. He earned his bachelors degree from Ferris State University and his masters degree from Independence University, California College of Health Sciences. He resides in the central Michigan area with his wife and two daughters.
Phyllis joined the board in 2016. She is the Senior Fellow and Advisor for The Kresge Foundations Health Team. Her professional experience includes serving as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Clinical ProfessorHealth Management and Policy for the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She holds both a bachelor and master of science degree in nursing and a PhD in sociology from Wayne State University.
Jerry joined the board in 2017. He is the Administrative Health Officer for the Marquette County Health Department. Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting from Michigan Technological University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. He received a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from Michigan State University in May 2017.
Denise joined the board in 2013. She served as Associate Dean for Government Relations and Outreach at Michigan State University. She also served as Director of the Plan Administration and Customer Services Bureau for the Medical Services Administration within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Denise is retired and resides in Boyne City with her husband, Steve.
Ron joined the board in 2016. He has extensive experience in the areas of legislative and political/fundraising strategy. Ron also spent several years as the Director of Marketing & New Business with a Michigan-based, nationally recognized real estate operating company before going back to Lansing where he joined a multi-client lobbying firm. Today, he is owner of the lobbying and public affairs firm Khoury Johnson Leavitt.
Jason joined the board in early 2019. He is Vice President of Health Finance at Michigan Health & Hospital Association and a demonstrated leader with nearly 20 years of healthcare expertise. Jason has focused on research, program evaluation, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, policy development, and program implementation. His experience spans public programs and commercial insurance.
Sue joined the board in 2019. She has over thirty years of experience in health policy and program administration in both the public and private sectors. She retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in September 2018, where she served as the Director of the Population Health Administration. Sue also was the Director of the Medicaid Program Operations Bureau at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health.
Bill joined the board in 2019. He retired as the Director/Health Officer of the Health Department of Macomb County in December of 2020. For over 30 years, Bill hasdevoted his career to the service of public health. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.
Our nonprofit dental centers partner with local health departments to offer the best in patient-centered, full-service care from regular checkups and cleanings to ongoing treatments. These valued partnerships allow MCDC to serve nearly 88,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually.

I've been in a couple times staff is vary friendly and vary helpfull..... Another great visit miss patty an dr Thomas (not sure of spelling) did an amazing job . I had a bad tooth called Sunday night they got me in Monday morning. Incredible staff I can't thank them enough

Hands down the best dentist appointment I've had. My son even enjoyed himself- he was comfortable enough (on his FIRST visit to this place) to let me sit out in the lobby instead of in the room with him. They are super nice and family friendly. I am beyond thrilled to have found this place !!!

Love this place,everyone is super nice and helpful,tried to get my sons teeth fixed at two other locations and they didn't try at all to get insurance approved,MCDC didn't give up and I also got a full benture done and everything went smooth and believe me I was mess,So proud of the staff there...Great Job....Hope they stay around for awhile.

the first time i came in was great, everyone was super nice and polite. this time, everyone was still super kind to me but things went really wrong. at my last appointment in june i was told i had the choice of getting immediate dentures of conventional dentures when my teeth were pulled. i chose immediate, because i work in customer service and that's what would work best for me. i wasn't told until after my teeth were pulled today that my insurance had been billed for conventional dentures, and that it was too late to do anything about it. my prescriptions were all sent to the wrong pharmacy as well, where my insurance isn't accepted. so i'm in mass amounts of pain and have to pay out of pocket for my medications. all in all it was a really bad experience today, and now i want to hide in my house for the next couple months.

Great friendly staff! All of them from greeting you when you enter, in the chair, even walk with you almost to the door. The dental office (as most medical offices) ask that a mask be worn when coming in; A sign posted on the door also. All the staff wearing masks, Front desk lady so friendly and bubbly indicates if she can check my temp; using Inside of wrist area. The office is on Capital Ave SW before Glenn Cross Road for those thinking about dental work.

Best Dental Office I have been too in Battle Creek. Both ladies who assisted me were Great, very nice & respectful. I also felt soo comfortable here as well. Big shout out to Shannyn, she was AMAZING TODAY

First off, I am very impressed with the cleanliness of the clinic. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I had my final fitting today and I am very, very pleased with my new dentures. They look natural and very pretty. All in all, I give the clinic a 10 plus rating.
