  • Dr. Nadia N. Sina Dr. Sina originally chose dentistry because she was a little scared of the dentist as a child and wanted to provide dental care that was comfortable and inviting. After nearly a decade as a general dentist, she looked for ways to improve on healthcare, and the ultimate smile, so she chose to enter Temple University School of Orthodontics. She has been practicing Orthodontics since the 1990's and still enjoys seeing the transformation of smiles upon each child or adult's face. During her free time, she loves practicing yoga and reading about human sciences.

A dentist is similar to your family doctor - great for check-ups and filling cavities. An orthodontist is a specialist who has two to three years of additional education, and is an expert in straightening your teeth and choosing the treatment option thats best for you.

There are a lot of treatment options these days, from retainers to clear aligners to invisible, metal, ceramic and micro braces. They each have their uses. Orthodontists have the specialized knowledge to consider all possibilities, based on variables like your age, possible jaw imbalances, differences in the size of your teeth, and more. They know what to use and when to use it, and will work with you to make the best decision - for your best smile.

Wires are held to brackets by tiny rubber bands called ligatures or o-rings. Brackets are generally made of stainless steel. Wires are made of metal alloys and deliver a constant, gentle force to move teeth.
