I'm almost 30yrs old but I'm such a baby when it comes to having any work done on my teeth (big or small). Today I came in thinking I would get a fill in but unfortunately I had a cavity so plans changed. Honestly, Wilma always make me feel relaxed during every visit. She takes her time to explain what needs to be done and she basically holds my hand (not literally) the whole time. For me, if Wilma is not there I will reschedule. Yes, she's that GOOD! I also can't forget Dr. Steven he was patient and considerate about any pain I may have. Those two are a DREAM TEAM! They both are very polite, professional and have great interpersonal communication skills. Thank you so much Wilma and Dr. Steven!!!!

I went into this dentist initially being very impressed with my first visit. I got a good cleaning. The hygienist was good. Everyone seemed quite pleasant. I had a couple of cavities filled there. Moving from another dentist's office to this one I obviously had to take some x-rays. Now before taking the x-rays I did tell them that my previous dentist informed me about two surface cavities. After the xrays and some poking around, they agreed. They were able to treat those two cavities the same day of the cleaning. I felt that was very convenient. Everything went well. Now here's the thing. I KNOW I don't have a good dental plan. I KNOW it does not perform as adequately as other plans would. And I DO KNOW that I am limited to a certain number of fillings annually. However, don't you think despite not being able to have more than two cavities filled, I should at least be INFORMED about an additional two I had that were unknown to me? So that was my last visit before everything got thrown against the wall in 2020 and I was needless to say a bit behind schedule with cleanings. I went in this year only to be asked if "I wanted to take care of those other two cavities" that day. What other two cavities? So that's awesome. I understand they have to comply with what my dental plan will allow them to do, but they didn't have the good graces to at least say " Hey! Yeah. There's a couple more here." So that I could at least KNOW about them and possibly focus on those areas a bit more? Very tone deaf. I'm just thinking about all the time I wasted that I could have used to figure out having these others taken care of. Its hard to do any of that when they don't even bother telling you that those cavities exist in the first place. Wouldn't you say? Go for a cleaning. Thats about all I'd say was a positive experience.

Many things did not sit right with me. I brush, I floss, I was in no pain. I went in hoping for a routine cleaning. After the exam, I was told I need several fillings and a deep cleaning. Office manager Marina explained that they would do fillings one at a time, waiting for the insurance to pay after each one before doing the next. She explained the deep cleaning would be scheduled in a few weeks, only after approval from the insurance. I was told this is because I had no copay. Seemed strange since I am not on medi -cal, but I didn't have a deep understanding of my insurance policy. They gave me one filling, it was quick and painless, a small cavity. I left without paying. Once outside, I checked my benefits and informed them that they had messed up- I did have a co pay for fillings and deep cleanings. Even though I gave them my insurance info, they thought I was on medi-cal. At this point, they come back and say the work I need will cost over $500, and the work for today was $70. I pay the $70 for one filling. I ask if I can have a normal preventative cleaning, the one I came in for. They take me back and apply fluoride polish, but still don't do the prophylaxsis. When I get home, I check my benefits again- the $70 co pay is the most expensive filling type- only for a four-surface filling. I call back and ask why I paid for a 4 surface filling if it was a small cavity on one side of my tooth, that didn't even require numbing. Marina tells me that's what Dr. Christine wrote, and that I don't know how big the cavity was. I go back to the office and miraculously they say "whoops, our mistake it was only a two-surface filling," and they refund the difference. I imagine that they assigned all my cavities the code for 4 surface filling just so they could soak the insurance. Yuck, I felt like a bag of money. In addition to the filling fiasco, I read more about deep cleanings, trying to understand why it was recommended that I have one on all four-quadrants of my mouth. In my exam, they didn't probe my gums at all or measure my pockets, so again, I feel like it was purely for financial gain. TLDR; the office was more interested in my money than anything else. I walked away $40 lighter, and never received the teeth cleaning I had scheduled.

Do not take your children to this dentist! I've been taking my kid to this Dentist for the past 3 years and she was referred by Dr Machain to another child dentist 2 years ago to get baby root canals and take care of 6 cavities! My kids metal plate fell off a few days ago so we went back to Dr Machain hoping to get it fixed. She attempted one time to put the cap back on and immediately said i have to go back to the dentist who did the work. Mind you, i just took my daughter here for check up/ cleaning (Doc said everything looked good and did not mention anything about Cavities) in August. When i get to the other dentist, they tell me she has more cavities. My poor kid. Who knows how long she had all cavities they've found so far and Dr Machain did not care to deal with it. Soo disappointing! I will not be coming back here again.

Really friendly and efficient dentist. They were informed about my insurance, didn't wait long and I would recommend them for both cleanings and fillings.
