After completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from West Virginia University, he attended DentalSchool at West Virginia University obtaining hisDoctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Mullins completedgeneral residency at the Naval Medical CenterSan Diego and served as the Dental Officer aboard theUSS DULUTH, LPD-6 during his final three years ofNavy Service.
Amy is a native of Iowa She joined the Navy in 1995, and was stationed in Coronado. She worked as an HH-46 helicopter mechanic for 3 years, left active duty then joined the Navy Reserves as a Hospital Corpsman, She retired in 2015 with 20 years of service. GO NAVY! Amy has two wonderful children; a son Branten currently serving in the Marine Corps and daughter Hannah studying Early Childhood Education in AZ. Amy has worked for over 20 years in Ortho/Dental and loves it. She is the Treatment Coordinator and Office Manager and will take care of all of your orthodontic needs!
Erica has worked with Mullins Orthodontics since 2013. You will find that she is compassionate and ensures a positive dental experience. Erica is dedicated and will help patients feel comfortable with every visit. She is from San Diego and is fluent in Spanish. Erica looks forward to waking up early to a cup of coffee, loves watching scary movies while eating her chips with lemon & hot sauce, and enjoys taking road trips with her family in their motorhome to complete their goal of visiting all of Americas National Parks. Her and her family has visited 28 out of 63 so far.
Haley was born and raised in San Diego, but did live on the east coast for a few years before returning. She also lived in Mexico city and around the Fort Worth Texas area for 18 months for a church mission. She has been Irishing dancing since she was 4 and has always had a love for performing on stage whether it was dancing, playing a musical instrument or acting. She has a deep love for animals and for being outdoors. In her free time she enjoys going to Disneyland and watching her favorite show I love Lucy. Haley is enthusiastic, charismatic and enjoys talking to everyone she meets. She has always had an interest in dentistry and has been so blessed to work at an office that creates beautiful smiles!
Samantha is an adventurous person who loves the outdoors. She is always seeking the space where life can bloom, whether it be at the desert, beach or river - anywhere to explore, breath deep and catch a smile!

I can't believe I forgot to leave a review! I was a patient from Jan 2019 to Nov 2020 before I had to move mid-treatment. Anyways - I was 21 years old with some messy teeth and Dr Mullins and his team did phenomenal work. I did not get to COMPLETE my braces journey with them, but I had nearly 2 years in their care and let me say - PHENOMENAL. They are so welcoming, and they quickly made me and my family FEEL like THEIR family! My toddler was always welcomed in the office and I never felt like a nuisance for BRINGING my kid.. which I know parents will get what I mean! They were all so nice and caring, I never felt rushed, my questions always throughly answered, I just truly can't express enough how much I ABSOLUTELY recommend Dr Mullins and his team to take care of your orthodontic needs! I no longer live in California, but will always recommend him to fellow military families that get stationed there! If you're looking at reviews to decide where to go for care - it's here. Their prices are fair (I've been to SO many orthodontists in Cali and on the East Coast so trust me, they are very fair! ) and reasonable! Everyone who works there were all just absolutely fantastic to interact with. It's perfect, definitely go here! Recommend 5 outta 5! ! !

Dr. Mullins has been more than amazing with my girls & their braces ! He's made it fun, not scary, they are able to relax when getting braces worked on or adjusted ! His WHOLE OFFICE staff, and his professionalism is GREAT !

Such an amazing office. I am from out of state and had a hard time finding an office who would see me to put a band back on that had come loose. Dr. Mulluns and his staff were so sweet and got me in to get it fixed. Fixed me up right and even check another tooth I was worried about. Had a great talk with him and his assistant, definitely recommend someone so caring.

My dentist suggested I see an orthodontist, so I saw two people who had impeccable ratings on yelp and google maps. Both of them had really slick sales people, really nice offices, the whole deal. They both suggested that I wear invisalign (which you basically have to keep going with, forever). But when I asked them a few basic questions about why they were making those recommendations, they answered me in highly technical language, and they seemed to be answering different questions from what I was asking. I can't be sure but it seemed like they were evasive answers, so I didn't pull the trigger. A coworker's father is a dentist, so I asked him how can I find a really good orthodontist? He said to look for someone who is board certified, since most orthodontists are not. That led me to Dr. Mullins on Coronado Island. Can I just say, the guy is a gem. He quickly congratulated me on my bite and said that I did not need orthodontic work. We then talked for another 15-20 minutes about why my dentist had made the recommendation and different options. He answered all of my questions directly and in really plain english, unlike the other orthodontists I felt like he was honestly just trying to give me information rather than guiding me into some certain decision. I think it says a lot about a professional service provider's integrity when they are willing to tell you that you don't need their services. Orthodontic treatments are so expensive, you have to really trust your orthodontist to help you make the right choice. I would strongly encourage anyone who needs orthodontic work to see Dr. Mullins. I felt really strongly that he is honest and cares for his patients.

Okay we love to vacation to San Diego. This visit left us in urgent need of a pop in visit to an orthodontist. We happened to be on Coronado island and found Dr. Mullins on Google. The staff was so cordial and professional. They fit our 12 year old in immediately due to a wire from his braces cutting his cheek and leaving him in pain. They clipped the wire then Dr. Mullins spent time consulting with him to make sure everything looked good. There are still great people in the world and Dr. Mullins and his staff are wonderful. Thanks!
